A short story if I may ( well , short??) . Not worthy for an separate thread. I want to tell it here, to my Pam lovers and RWI friends.

The other day I found an old rep Pam in one of my bookcases. Well, it was not lost, over the years I've seen it laying around, never gave it any attention. I bought it in 1999, perhaps early 2000. Cheap rep, even for those days.

But at that specific moment, I do not know why, I decided to pick it up and looked at it closely. I thought, what happend to all these years, why does times flies so fast? Like it was yesterday, I remember buying it.

While I was dreaming away, I suddenly saw the watch has started to run. HUH, after all these years. Was this an invitation to start wearing it again? Like she said, I'm alive!!

The Strap was ugly though . Cheap black leather, nothing to do with a Pam. But she was ticking. hahaha. Suddenly I thought it was time for a second life for her.

Without noticing him, I send the pam to my friend Nathas78. When he got the watch he emailed me, what the heck is this, a great but very antique Pam, he wrote. He was in fact exited. hahahaha.

I asked Nathas if he could spare some time to look at the movement and the overall state of the watch. I would like to wear her again. Was it worth the costs of a service and so on?

To keep a long story short, he took the challenge without any terms and I gave him "card Blanche".

He gave her a full service, gave the dial a new look, did an awesome lume job and made a handmade strap for her. Polishing and brushing the head.
I have not heard him for four whole weeks, hahaha . Last Sunday it was ready and he send it to me on Monday. She arrived today and I'm thrilled!!

Here are the pics. Mind you, it was a 80 guilders rep in the old days. look at her now. Thanks for reading and thanks RWI for having discovering this great forum and last but not least, THX Nathas.

Isn't it amazing what a quality strap can do (in addition to nathas78's mods) for this PAM. Strap and mods look right at home and really accentuate the overall aesthetics.
