I pulled the trigger a little while ago on this Omega DSOTM. I wasn't expecting much, but it's gotten a fair bit of wrist time since I've been on holidays the past week, so it can't be all bad. I'm not super familiar with the gen, so please let me know if I'm missing anything obvious.

The bad: tachymetre is misaligned a degree or so from 12. It's a quartz. The date wheel is black text on white background. The case back is silver (I'm not sure, but I imagine the gen would be black???). The lume is crap. Delivery was slow to Australia (~1 month)

The good: The chrono sec hand resets pretty much perfectly to 12. Keeps great time. Cheap (USD $78 from memory) compared to the reps of this from the TDs. Date wheel clicks over at midnight and is perfectly aligned. Crown is screw down. Crystal is domed.

The inbetween: the strap is ok material on a sort of deployment buckle that's pretty cheap, but works. It's not excellent quality, but it's usable, which is better than most reps I've had, especially from ali. The chrono works (sort of). The chrono second hand works fine, as does the subdial at 9, which is for minutes. But the subdial at 3 is nonsense...the subdial minute hand lags two hours behind the real time and I don't know what the the subdial minute hand does, so it's completely useless.

Verdict: I'd give it a 7/10 and would recommend it if you're keen on the idea of flirting with this model without forking over hundreds for a nice rep from TDs (or thousands for a gen!!!). It's a nice watch for a casual outfit and the chrono works up to 1 hour.

About "Cindy" (well, i'm sure the person i wrote to so many times is a girl, but not sure about her name...) and her stores (she had 4, but the main one is now shutdown) :

I've just been reading back through a lot of this topic, I just wanna give what my opinion is of a lot of people thinking if td's are selling on ali or whether or not you can get the same watches from TD on ali or Dh.

Well firstly, do some td's sell on Ali or Dh, absolutely 100% yes. Although they wouldn't make it obvious. As those sellers that blatantly rip them off. I think this because one watch I returned was the same contact name and address of a TD which I noticed on the delivery notice on my last package from a TD. But yes maybe that seller had my watch just sent from the factory.. But still, same factory.
also some sellers have shared the same yupoo pages from factories with me as are found on a certain TD.

say a TD buy 60 of X watch... A few have some imperfections, a scrape here or there or an issue with finish etc, they arent gonna sell them through their trusted site are they.

and can you get exactly the same watches for sale by a TD on ali, absolutely yes, but... Like said above I don't think they will be of the same high standard as ordering direct from a TD they keep their best for the site and at a premium price.

In in my opinion, the cream of the crop stuff from the factory goes to TD, TD may sell wherever, imperfect stuff from factory could go elsewhere etc etc.

I did buy a planet ocean from aootime, at $148 which I also bought another for my dad from Ali which seller claimed was identical to the one I had their price was $100 and yes, it was identical. But, as a general rule, I don't think with the higher quality jf or noob you will get the same quality.

With the cheaper stuff from cheap factories like gangzhou factory, that's where a lot of Ali sellers get a lot of garbage and a lot of imperfect stuff the same applies the better quality items are distributed to certain sellers.

My end conclusion, if you wanna spend under £150 for a beater and don't mind a few imperfections go with Ali, if you want to spend more, go with a TD...

Thanks for sharing Your experience and links for these sellers. What is really interesting is that there are many apparently eye-catching offers in the Yuan 400 - 600 range.

Than as soon as You dig a bit on the same sites, the better quality ones from R. or Breitling&others (looking like the ones sold by TDs) suddenly jump to Yuan 2400 - 2650 and hereby are also in the $400 USD and above range (as expensive or more expensive than TDs depending on the model) but without rwi-forum support if something goes wrong.

This is my one from that seller. The logo is slightly crooked. But it waterproofed with new gaskets with no problem. It is my favourite watch atm. I intend to buy the gen. That is why I did not go TD. But I am super-impressed with this one. The crown is not screwed in in this pic. But it screws down with no problem. It is also a hack movement.

How does it feel compared to gen? Is He valve placement correct? Could you please post more pics? Thanks.
