This is where I'm confused, if I take the gasket out of the equation and sit my crystal into the case, it's no lower than with the gasket on, I've asked how I can lower anymore and been told I'd have to shave the case, do I have a bad case?

I'll post some pictures but right now it's having a movement transplant

This ist how a Noob 5v shout look like out of the box!
I know a genuine crystal costs a lot of money, but it's worth every penny.

So a new 2.3mm gasket and a new Rolex crystal B25-295-C12-C1 would solve my problem?
I´m waiting for a short report from user PrinceWilliam, and if he can confirm, that this is the right instruction, I´m going to buy what´s need to do this mod too.

U.K.
It is far from a. Standard v5. It has an lf bracelet with superior end links, tc overlay, gen crown and gen crystal. Sadly no longer mine and regret selling her!

This is what my v5 is looking like with the new crystal installed, the bezel insert is sitting a little proud to try hide the crystal. The lip of crystal is sitting on the case and no gasket is going to change the height. Only option if I want it lower is to shave the case

What gasket have you used. You're pictures shows that the bezel is not fitted flush nor is the insert fitted well either!
Have you used a crystal press to correctly push the retainer into a good tight position as nothing else will fit if not. Please show a picture without bezel fitted.

The stock gasket that came with the Rolex crystal, but even with the gasket taken away and the crystal just sitting on my case that's the height I get that's what I'm trying to say

The watch is with my watchmaker, the insert isn't set yet, that's just to show the crystal height

Why the hell would u need to shave the case to use a gen xtal and gasket on your noob. Just use a gen ar xtal and gen 2.6mm gasket.the xtal will sit at the same height as gen.I've got that set up in my sub.

I want to replace the crystal on my Sub-C Noob v5. Some people say in different treads, that it is enough to chance the gasket from 2.7mm to 2.3mm to solve the problem. BK for example, says that will enhance the issue, but will not fix the problem.

I agree with BK, because I have even measured the crystal and a new seal alone will not lower the glass enough, because the glass is 0.8mm above the bezel. Could a thinner gen Rolex crystal help?

Who has the dimensions and part numbers for these parts, and could provide them to me? Has somebody already done this mod before, either the "solo gasket" solution, or the "smaller gasket and gen crystal" solution, and can report about the result?

I´m looking forward for any input!

That's what I've used, and this is the height I have got, but does it look right?

You have not pressed the retainer properly, it's that simple.
Maybe you should have let someone do it that has better knowledge and equipment.

As smoke says it is not rocket science but I do disagree with a 2.6mm gasket as it stills sits too high in my opinion as noob case is not quite 1:1 with gen.

If the retainer goes down any further my bezel is too tight it won't turn
