Agree. in 1997 I bought a Gen AP Royal Oak Offshore in Steel for 18.000,- guilders, for comperreson, it had the same price as a Rolex DD in gold!!! everybody said I was insane. steel???? not gold????

AP justified the price saying: "Steel is much harder than gold so much more difficult to work on. More men-hour on a single watch" . what a marketing. you got to give them that.

Never ever touched and felt a Gen PP so who am I to judge.

good friend of mine just got this for 68k second hand, not exactly in very good condition too but you dont see them around much anymore.
Had to slap it on my wrist and try it out. What an amazing watch!

yeah, USD. The prices of Nautilus been going crazy for the past 2 years, i find the 5711 most outrageous they are going for $50k right now in the second hand market and that is a non-chrono all steel watch.

You put a different movement in the watch? Or is ST19= to Venus75? Any thoughts on it, any noticable flaws, anything like that? Thanks for the link.

This is what the factories refer to as a Venus 75 but it’s not, it is in fact and ST19 seagull movement, so you were correct first time around!!

Great little movement, very reliable other than occasionally the click springs have a habit of breaking so you have to take it easy when winding them!!

Yeah same movement is in the Cartel vintage Daytonas (got 3 of those currently) and the Datograph rep (which I wish I still had). Lovely smooth winding feel, great pusher feel on the Chrono too!!

I wish they’d give this watch another try, I love the 5980 so much but even modded it just falls short of being good enough for me. The colour is the main bugbear, and should be sunburst!
