Al of Archer watch repair. He's an omega certified watch smith living in Ontario. If you look him up you'll see he's "the guy" on WUS and omega forums. Actually for fun look up some of his threads to see what he says about servicing movements. He also likes to show macro photography of his projects. When you get your watch back from him it'll come with a dvd with 100's of photos documenting the entire process.

He's one of the very view 3rd party venders that still have a spare parts account for Omega with Swatch Group Canada (similar gig to Ofrei and Cousins).
Archer took on the project of building my SMP from scratch using all new parts (original owner wanted an unworn collection piece). I purchased this off the original owner yesterday. It came with literally everything but the Omega warranty card as it's not an original factory production watch.
A lot of local folks will send their Omegas to him as he uses all Omega equipment. Provides the same if not better service for a slightly lesser cost.

Awesome. Thanks gents! Looks to me, I may have an alternative to send my watch too then when it is time for an overhaul! and Om3ga_guy yours truly looks amazing.. it almost makes me want to go out my new insert on mine.. [emoji15] I also wish my box was not so beat up lol

Maybe I should use Archer to service my 2531.80 movement since it hasn't been done in years, Does he have a website?
Sure does - here you go:
http://www.archerwatches.ca
He can perform complete overhauls including refinishing and parts replacement. You essentially get the same identical service as Swatch Group. His work is spotless and I'm super anal with handling marks and dust.
I believe he generally has a waiting list for inbound work, but check with him.

Thanks brother.
Yeah Omegas gone thru a few box designs in terms of substrates. I've had a few of the melting/peelings ones too. The colour would also bleed. Those were mainly the older models. The more current ones use a better fabric and don't peel anymore.

Awesome, thanks for the link as well! I'm going to use him. And if he has a waiting list, I'll get on it appropriately.
And yeah, mines pretty beat up. Bleeding and peeling everywhere. But then again, it just sits around at the top of my closet in a box. Hmm. I may look into cleaning my SMP up. Yours inspired me. Granted, mines not in horrible shape, but flawless looks incredible..

Yeah box has never been a focus for me as I never pull it out. I find myself pulling my Rolex ones out though for some reason...Do you have some more photos (closer up anyway) of your Seamaster?
I remember reading your thread when you first got it, just can't pull the photos up in my mind.
Speaking high level, even a new bezel transforms the watch completely. Especially when our insert is faded and banged up.

(Removed that fuzz before I tightened it back up, and water sealed it)

so yours is waterproof now?
I can't wait for mine and Id like to make it water proof
true!Yeah, well to 5 ATMs at least, but I am not taking it swimming. I waterproof all my watches in case I spill something on them at work in case I have to decontaminate them. I only pressure tested to 5ATMs, and it passed with flying colors. So I'm sure it's more. But why risk it? Pool okay, but that would be it. Even then, I have the Casio or my Seiko for that stuff. Or my actual diving watch.

Fantastic looking SMP bro, a new bezel isn't really warranted. The blue's nice and dark still, unless your looking to eliminate the hairlines and even those aren't bad.
