I am literally very conflicted. I've been in the market for a gen 6538 for a while now but it almost seems as though it would be the wise thing to just franken one up...

I can build you one for 4k with the best specs. You can start adding gen parts and price goes up from there. My own personal 6538 is about $7500 - to recreate it now will cost $8500 already and I only got it done last year. You can get a messed up gen for 50k or a good one for 100-150k. Gilt four line? Forget it. There was one in similar condition to mine sold for $267k at Christies in '14! It just doesn't make any sense to get gen unless youve got an 8-9 figure bank account.

Ok so I have WAYYY too many builds going on but this is something very special. As you know most COMEX cases are, well, WRONG! They have protruding HEV, bad crownguards (too thick), and bad dials, pearl etc you name it! The worst is the caseback are not engraved in a gen like way.

I present to you here, a seriously gorgeous 5514 case and dial. I'll be using a cal 1520 (not the 1570 pictured) but the movement pictured is so stunning I have to include it - it's a 1570 (technically a 1575 since it has the date function) that will be in a 1680 build!
