Very nice although on a deeper delve its not a 1:1 rep of any ALS model but seems to be a combo of 2 or 3 Datograph models plus 1 major difference.
As far as I can see they are all like that. Not faithful copies but iconic in their own right. Honestly it is just a stunning watch. I have two of them and another on the way. One of them is a Datograph that has a moonphase instead of a date, as in there is no date whatsoever. I always find that so amusing and it is what makes a true rep for me. I love the flaws. I paid good money for a "Made in Shiterland" Rolex DJ just for that flaw and a replica piece of history. I know there is always an obsession about looking for the 1:1, which has never existed in the real world without serious modifications. I have even went there myself with frankens. At the end of the day I just love them because they are reps. I am not trying to fool anyone lol.

Totally. In its own right its a stunning piece and in fact, it captures all the good bits of the various ALS gens and there is a twist.
Mathematical the design is so appealing and I think thats the essential beauty.
The Roman numerials are the preferred for me (rather than the stick dial) and on the gen that is on the original 1999 platinum case and the "dufour" version £75k-100K. I think the gen rose gold (my preferred case) with the stick markers was released after the reps; possibly around 2014. Its almost like the rep makers thought about how can they improve the 1999 release did it then ALS copied it.
So the rep with the rose gold case and the Roman numerials is the best of both worlds.

You're right, reps will ever be good enough for Lange, soe models will never be repped altogether !
Very lucky indeed, and I am extremely grateful. I got into reps around 2005 when I was 16. Finally got to a place where I can comfortably afford many expensive pieces.WOW !

A cool Halloween shot i took last night with that amazing moon. Some might enjoy it.

Second: Are these models still made and whats the factory behind them? Really beautiful watches that you present us here.
Unfortunately the Datographs have not been around for a long long time. That one I have I was told was a MBW.

If you have seen any decent Datograph's advertised the adverts are either old or scams. The only available ones seem to be via Dhgate and they are not very good.
I was told that the biggest rep market is China and there just isnt the demand there for this piece.
I was also told technically its difficult to produce with the big date needing a significant amount of power - unsure if either true but given the number of reps out there across brands and models running into the thousands it does seem a shame not to revisit this one.
I understand the demand is low, I am sure like all fellow americans also the chinese cant pronounce the brand name correctly and it would sound more like a multiple stroke
