Most of the refinished dials for sale on Ebay are completely fake -in order to be able to call it refinished it should be the original dial plate, which has then been retouched/refinished.
Most of those dial plates used aren't even gen - they are just brass discs with 'Singer' stamped on them.
However, some of them are pretty well done and worth the $200 or so price tag - even if they aren't technically speaking 'refinished dials'

That's what made me wonder about them at $200 or so then you see some at thousands on the legit sites. Personally if I wanted something second hand gen I just wouldn't do ebay unless it was face to face with a expert there to confirm its authentication!

You're correct - if you don't have sufficient knowledge then buying vintage on Ebay is fraught with risks.

As for genuine im happy with my mint omega seamaster pro 300 my dad gave me. One of the best looking minimalistic watches out there that's looks as good most rolex submariners in my eyes. And even better if you compare the bracelet to the oyster strap!
