They made a homage seamaster 300 awhile back but don’t make it anymore unless the gmt version is the same case. The site won’t open for me.Borealis Estoril 300 GMT Black Dial Arabic Numbers Date Version I
The Borealis Estoril 300 GMT showcases an exquisite sapphire bezel with a bi-directional ball bearing mechanism, ensuring seamless time zone adjustments at your fingertips. It is powered by a true GMT movement the Miyota 9075.www.borealiswatch.com
This just popped up on my Facebook. Could be a good case - looks similar to the Helson one
Great watch mate...for a new mtm sale I am here !! ah ah
Id say the mk2 project 300 is a good option too but priceyThe Etsy cases are really bad. The lugs don't have the elegant twist of the gen. There is enough metal there to reshape them properly if you are up to the challenge. The TD cases are also bad, but for a different reason. They're too flat and don't have enough metal to reshape. This thread is an excellent resource for case shape and how it should look:
165.024 Seamaster 300 HF Vs. CB Case
Thought I would share with you some photos I took to show the differences between the HF (Huguenin Frères) & CB (Le Centrale Boites) cases on the 165.024 Seamaster. Enjoy!omegaforums.net
Your best bet is to get the Borealis or Helson and use that case as the base for a Franken. Those cases are the closest you will find to gen shape OOB.
It's a different world now. There's a couple aliexpress brands that have decent ones now.Late to the party here but interested in this. If going the Helson route, would a gen dial fit? And then outside of that, would it just be cashback and crown needing replacements to fit the part?
Any links? It's a different world now. There's a couple aliexpress brands that have decent ones now.
Where to get via dial and crown? I see a dial on rafflesI'd use the case and bezel. If a gen movement would fit I'd use that with a viet dial and crown. I've made some really nice custom inserts for these. Put it all together with a gen plexi crystal and you've got a winner.
Raffles dial might be good. I haven't seen it, just check it for accurate details like where the hashes end and numeral shapes. If not, bivintage has got dials and crowns. He can probably source a gen movement as well. Again, no idea if gen movement would fit one of these alix cases though. Bivintage will also sell complete watches, but the cases and inserts are shitty and the second hand isn't painted.Where to get via dial and crown? I see a dial on raffles
Excuse my ignorance does Bivintage have a store? Google search came up emptyRaffles dial might be good. For me with any rep of a vintage 300 the most important thing to get right is the case shape. These have such a unique and beautiful case shape with the twisted lugs. I've reworked one of the viet cases before and it takes a LOT of filing and then sanding and then polishing. I guess the good thing with the viet case is that there's enough metal to dial in the shape correctly, but these alix cases look good, so why bother?
