I'm wearing my gen right now and the shade of gray and shine looks pretty much the same as in PrinceWilliams's qc pic.
But the real Prince William wears the quartz SMP Diver 300m...haha..jk
Nice. You ordered the rep with orange numerals?
This 39,5mm should be for the 8900series not the 8500I'm assuming there's been no word of a 39.5mm edition coming
First impressions:
Wow. This is seriously a good rep. Bear in mind I have owned so many gen Planet oceans (2500 and 8500h, that I have lost count...so you could say I am a big fan.
Here are some quick checks i did:
Crystal is perfect. Don’t put a x2AR crystal on it.
Dial/hands lume application looks flawless to me. I have never perfect lume on ANY LMPO.
Hour surrounds are clean and shine like gen.
no finger prints/lume over-spill/smudges on hour maker surrounds and hands.
Movement is quite. ZERO rotor sound. Very well finished.
Winding is nice but not as smooth as gen 8500.
Bracelet is hefty like gen. nothing about this release looks and feels like a cheap Chinese rep.
Bezel rotation is crisp but doesn’t sound quite as perfect and precise as gen but nothing I can’t live with.
Overall the quality of this is on par with the modern Rolex reps.

have you spoken to anyone about a potential service if/when required?
Not yet. Good news is that it doesn’t have the coaxial crap that is a mission to service. The rest of the movement is basically an eta (well at least it’s made my ETA for Omega.... despite being called “in-house”).
Hence I imagine the common wear parts to be compatible with ETA parts but we need a watchmaker to confirm.
Maybe I’ll send it to ado213 for a breakdown movement review.
