People are nuts. That'a datewheel font you could find on a gen as well...

I know, I forgot to mention that in my post, I personally don't care if there was a fat date wheel in the past, we are in 2020 and 116610 subs don't have fat dw!
If you like a fat dw that's your choice, but it isn't mine.

Go and get a 2020 Sub. Stop complaining about reps not looking exactly like the specimen you want when it's actually gen like.

I am not sure if you even read my post or if you understood it, because I wasn't complaining at all!

That's an interesting way to "not complain at all". ;)

You: "t don't understand why does VSF step on ARF*s steps? this fu*king fat date wheels, just why????????"
Me: "same as gen"
You: "not like 2020 gen"

What's next, will you drag VSF to court because the serial number isn't "Z365558"?

my gen had dw numbers fat, and personally I like them that way, the new sub really have them thinner, but I don't care. Fat DW in real life, he looks great. What happens is that in these photos we enlarge and if they look much fatter. It is my personal opinion.

You have a good point, glad to hear your gen was nice even with a fat dw.

As Tete said the dw font in hand doesn't look that fat as how it looks on the photos (also there a lot of gen with fat fonts, you can check on bobs watches) . As I said like 20 pages ago in this thread dw change is an easy and cheap swap imo. Rather have some flaws that are easier to fix than some flaws that take more labour. I personally went for Gen hands, xtal and dw. From what I have seen vsf seems to be actually listen to people and try to change some flaws mid batch sometimes that's really rare.

my approved QC from Trusty a week ago - looks like batch 1 based on the rehaut

That watch looks amazing.
Only minor issue is the rehaut first "R".

I don't really understand the DW issue.
It looks fine.
VSF did an amazing job and, with just a V1, this is already the best sub rep out there.

Wear it in good health and enjoy that beautiful piece.

Cheers

Thank you! This will be my first modern Rolex rep - I'm excited. I agree with you, other than the rehaut, I have no complaints!

I didn’t like the bold font on mine, for me
It was just as big as in pics. Also there’s No 2018 subs with bold DW from Rolex, even if other older Gens do it’s kind of a moot point. Gen DW is 150 + shipping euros to buy, then the cost to install it. I dunno if it’s that cheap.

I’ll be interested to see how well your Gen hands match the dial and the improvement on stock crystal with the Gen one installed, Look forward to pics.

I thinking as the batch was rolling they started fixing some flaws, that’s why we have seen different iterations along this thread. I find the price of the dw pretty reasonable at the end of the day you can always swap it into another watch. As someone stated on the zzf it might be harder to actually reshape the cw of the zzf, so I rather get the vsf that has all the exteriors closer to gen than a dw that’s not. I’m also curious how the hands will look like, it’s on interaktiv hands so I’m 100% sure that the end result will be satisfactory. As for the crystal, the vsf is for sure the best out of the box but at the end of the day gen is gen. Most likely will end up flipping some of the spare parts to cover at least one part of the costs. My intention since the beginning was to go franken as after seeing almost all the new releases, vsf has imo the best base for going franken. Also I’m curious about how the LV turns out!

I agree it’s a very nice base for a franken. Make sure you post plenty of pics.

I received the watches and am very impressed ...

I know that the inner crown has many rolex inscriptions and
I see several people talking about the rehaut "R" which would not be aligned, and I confess that I cannot understand what you are referring exactly ... is it possible to find out?
By being picky,
I may have a complaint that I have to make concerning my 2 VSF watches, in the center where the hands are fixed, on the central dial appears a wave (like a pebble in water) and I imagine that the GEN does not have this wave ... can you confirm ?

some pictures to illustrate, but difficult to photograph :
