VSF VS3135 Submariner Comparison Against the Gen

I vowed never to wear one, but I've become interested recently in Rolex with all the buzz surrounding the new Sub releases.
So my (very noobish) question now is: how would this VSF release rate against the much coveted TC subs out there?
(Disregarding possible franken adjustements made to the latter).

Nice thread BTW and if I wouldn't be living in a place where someone recently got shot over a Rolex rep, I would be seriously interested.
Those black Subs are quite pretty indeed.

just so happens I have an entire movement coming to fix a no date. I’ll steal the wheel for myself.

Those black Subs are quite pretty indeed.

TC Subs were the best 5 digit subs hands down. But, they are a rarity now. Closest you will get is a Ginault Ocean Rover now.

It remains to be seen how good these VSF are, but we will know soon enough. smoke likes them at first glance, as do I. No doubt someone is going to have to try putting a free spring balance in!

Well done! Im waiting for the 114060 to come in and then I'll probably hit the button on both.

Really keen to know if the VS reversing wheels are painted and subject to possible flaking, or anodised. You may know the answer to this before we get confirmation from TDs.

from the pics, they appear to be anodized like VR movement.

So, the VSF has thick date font is flaw right?
do gen have same thick font? Because I've been searching and checked gen pic, I don't see gen has same thick font.

Thanks! One member here just takes the auto wind off and soaks it in acetone to get the paint off so I was thinking about it but if it’s anodized then it might just be a waste.

Are you sure it's a VSF? See here another member's QC that looks much better in terms of Cyclop mag and alignment as well as rehaut alignement

But seriously I see the movement as better finished, secured to the case under notches for easy removal like gen (others use a wedge system, um supposedly it has an anodized reversing wheel that won’t flake and case paint to permeate the rest of the movement... but I want to see how well the date change mechanism works because on my last SH3135 the star shaped date changer wouldn’t catch and the date wouldn’t change on its own or by winding... so if VSF claims to have replicated a gen 3135 perfectly I’m looking forward to genlike function of date changing with no issues but I’m not too worried
