VSF vs ZF question

I just recieved QC from Hont. I requested a ZF seamaster from him. After a couple days I received qc pics. I have already RL due to a very obvious printing issue on dial. However, it looks to me that this isn’t even a ZF due to the missing screw on the adjustment arm. If I’m not mistaken the VSF does not have the screw, but the ZF should have the screw present? Also the lume appears a little yellowish to me, which is why I asked for ZF in the first place. I just want to double check my facts with more experienced folks.

The E is enough to say you don't want it!
Absolutely! That was the first thing that caught my eye and made me reject it.
But I did mention to him the issue with the movement. I wanted ZF to get that crispy white lume 😆

Your feeling is right: it's a VSF
CG's look quite short as well.
SN on the movement is VSF one.
And yes, lume on markers is quite yellowish.

Thank you for pointing out those other issues. I didn’t even think to check the serial numbers. 😃

I meant I was just about to look into Hont for a Seamaster 300m ZF, but now I have doubts. Does this happen frequently, getting sent a different version than what you ordered?

I would assume that it was not intentional on his part. At least I would hope it wasn’t, and I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt. This is my third order with Hont, and I’ve always had good experiences in the past.

That's why we get QC pictures. These watches are made by underpaid workers in the jungle of Taipan, often by nursing teenage mothers holding an infant in one hand while assembling fake Omegas with their other hand, and it's indeed possible that once in a while a dial or something else isn't perfect. That has nothing to do with the TD.

Totally understood. I’m not blaming Hont for damaged dial printing, that is completely out of his control. I think the question raised has to do with Hont procuring a different factory than what was requested.
My advice would be to learn the differences between the factories. They all have different tells, the most obvious that was recently brought to my attention is the serial number on the movement.

As I was typing the last message I received a new qc from Hont. And once again he has procured a vsf when I’ve repeatedly stated I’m looking for a ZF.
So how do I proceed at this point? In all my limited experience I’ve never had to rl a watch. And now I will be rejecting two watches in a row.
This second watch is better than the first, however it still has what I consider to be noticeably yellow lume. That’s why I want a zf.
That’s why I’ve requested a zf multple times. I’m honestly confused why he has procured two vsf for my qc.

Hopefully third time will be the charm, and he will be able to source a zf as I have requested.
I don’t want to frustrate him but I feel that I have been clear in my requests.
I’m not sure what recourse I have at this time if any. Or if I just wait and see his response.
I assume if he grows tired of me rejecting watches he will refund my payment and we will go separate ways.
If it was any other color dial I would most likely accept the last watch. But at this time I want the white dial, and the lume color of the vsf is unacceptable to me.

I have gone through multiple dealers TD's and non-TD's. While Hont is the cheapest TD, his customer service is terrible. Steve from TheOneWatches - as an example - has significantly better service and way more communicative, however the tradeoff is paying more. There are good dealers that I have used that are not on the TD list, that are either cheaper than Hont, or better service/quicker delivery.

Personally I avoid using Hont when I can.

I guess it’s just that I’ve always had good luck with Hont in the past. He has always been very fast with qc pics (less than 24 hours), and before this has found excellent watches on the first try. I guess we’ll see how it goes.

Oh boy. So Hont has succeeded in finding me a ZF. Unfortunately the printing on the dial is again in horrible condition.
I feel bad having to rl again, knowing that this is the third watch he has found for me. But it is the first ZF that he has found. It also sucks because the indices look great on this one and I know zf sometimes has trouble getting them lined up. I really hope his patience has not worn thin. He hasn’t replied yet since I’ve asked him to find another watch 😬

This is probably one of the best index alignments I’ve seen on a ZF. The 12 o’clock looks better than most I’ve seen.

And you can call me overly picky, but I do notice a difference between the two…
