Why wouldn't it be?

I am contemplating to get this piece, so I am trying to understand all its flaws. As far as several TD websites, they all consistently show thickness/height of 13mm. Interestingly, there are already several discussions threads for this piece, but I did not find any mention of thickness/height. It is a common aspect people talk about. So, I am double-checking.

Given they cloned the 3235 movement, the case thickness should be pretty close to gen. The reason why I say pretty close is bcz the rep factory's quality control is all over the place. If the crystal is not pressed in all the way, it might be thicker than gen. If it's pressed too much, then it will be thinner.

It is a gr8 rep and the movement takes gen DW and hands. The only thing I wish the factory can further improve would be the lugs flatness from top.

If it is all about crystal positioning, it would be an easy fix by any watchmaker/modder, wouldn't it?

An overall difference of 1mm is neither here nor there. Your wrist - flat / round and anywhere in between - will make a bigger difference to the way it looks when you're wearing it.

Still loving mine...

Runs great, at +5s/day, stable in all positions.
I enjoy looking at it. It's so clean and perfect.
Crystal is really good also. Lume is amazing!

I can hear the rotor tho (not sure if that happens with gen) and the date wheel is a bit down on the date rectangle (but it doesn't bother me)...
The bracelet is very good and the clasp is really really good.

I'll be wearing it this week and then I might be ready to do an unbiased review.

Cheers

This is what another member wrote some days ago on another thread. This would be the answer to the noises youre hearing.

" Where the sounds of the 3235 movement come from is easy to explain. The 3135 has got an axle, which is relatively silent.

In the 3235, Rolex has now changed to a flywheel drive on a ball bearing. Hence the (normal) noises"

Humm, it can be.
I can only say when I hear the gen - is there a video of that 3235 noise?

It's not a loud "Miyota like" rotor sound, but I can hear it if I put the watch closer to my ear.
Not that it bothers me - had a Gen Omega Seamaster 300M that was "noisy" too.
Almost all of my Longines are noisy also.

My gen AirKing tho, is dead silent.

Cheers

I spent some time comparing the gen and rep pictures from various angles. But I still can't figure out the "lugs flatness" issue you mentioned. Care to elaborate, please?

It's the 41mm sub but is it this sound that you mean? (at 3:40)

VSF sure have gen sample, how they clone the movement without gen ? I hope there’s comparison very near.

New subs have 3235, also datejust. They don't necessarily need a YM to clone the 3235 than being said im pretty sure they have a Gen YM.

1 week straight on the wrist...
8 days - +38 seconds (slightly less than 5s/day).

Just received mine today, this is by far the best replica rolex i have over owned, quality is amazing and the clasp feels better then ARF clasp, the winding is butter smooth and it feels same as gen rolex watches, i thought the watch will feel very light but it is not very light and have good weight to it, strap is not stiff as the other VSF panerai rubber straps.
