Hands down this is a great REP. Excellent quality.
Feels sturdy and has heft.
The RG looks a tad like plated RG and not GEN RG. Strap is so so but the strap color is excellent.

Looks good on the wrist. People keep spotting the pieces today.

Thanks for the photos mine is in route I ordered a gen croc and will mount and take a few photos for comparison the only thing now that scares me is the plated comment hopefully it’s better in real life

Having held and inspected the GEN PAM667, also Goldtech, subjectively I just feel ours are missing that solid gold finish and shine. Awaiting your pics regarding the gen croc comparison.

I’m pissed one of the screw bars was drilled wrong so when I was changing the strap it was a nightmare and scratched the lug a bit also the screw is sticking out a millimeter

That’s terrible. That’s one of the things that would irritate the shit out of me. Anyway, what is your opinion on the Gold Plating.

From a pic to another the polish sometimes looks mirror like, sometimes a bit brushed. Guys how does this gold plating render IRL?

Did vsf use a black datewheel? Or is it just dark blue?


just curious. As usual, Panerai has a datewheeel to match the dial which means the gen has a blue datewheel. And the gen datewheel also has similar properties to the dial so when the dial looks matte, the datewheel looks matte. And when the dial glimmers, the datewheel also glimmers.

I sometimes think it looks plated IRL. I took another look at my AD ( not wearing the REP ) and GEN Gold looks a tad more warm. Again PAM gold looks different than Omega & Breitling gold.

I have a few Panerai case back opening tools and the case back openers fit all the noobs, KW models, h factory models perfectly and they never fit the vsf case backs.

To be fair, johnlogan has already touched on this issue once, and I was so disappointed that I didn't even bother to follow up on this discussion. Tell me, please, are you talking about 44mm models, or is the 47mm model also incorrect?
