I tried to use the search function but unfortunately I didn't find what I'm looking for, so if this topic has already been posted several times, I apologize for that.

I have a VSF Datejust 36 (new model 126234) which I am very happy with, now I have bought a new bezel in 18K white gold, also I have the right tools to remove the bezel and a press to put it back in but I asked wondering if there is a good tutorial of this? I wonder if the glass is attached to the bezel or if it is in the case itself (perhaps a stupid question), but I find the glass a bit scary. I tried this on another model where the glass was on the bezel and then the glass broke. It's a shame if that happens again, so I wondered if there was more to read about this, thanks in advance!

Kind regards,
Nick

You could likely learn some pointers about rep bezel removals and replacements in general from my thread below.

6-digit Sub crystal and bezel swap

You would approach a DJ bezel swap in the same manner and it is WAY easier. Just keep in mind that the gen bezel may not have an identical inner diameter so the fit to the crystal gasket may be different. If you can't press the gen bezel on with moderate force, consider shaving the thickness of the gasket a tad before applying excessive force.

Crystal gasket shave - DIY

A DJ crystal is not attached to its bezel directly, there is a gasket in between. All three pieces will likely come off together, then need to be separated. See pics in the first linked thread.

@sagewatch I think it's one of the most fun/ easy/ most satisying little mods someone can learn to do, once you've got clear instructions and nice little tools. Hope you guys all have good experiences with it.

At the very least you need a case knife and a crystal press with plastic dies.

Ok I tried.
I removed the bezel without effort, the glass and gasket also came off.
I tried to reinstall the bezel, but I can't; it always fits on one side and remains raised on the other side. I confirm that a press is needed :)

Did you need a new gasket or were you able to reuse the current one?
