Hi mate, working gen balance on vs3135?
Same question from me?
Hi mate, working gen balance on vs3135?
oascom - Fantastic work!!!
What would you say your typical turnaround time was for a submariner or a datejust?
oascom there's a bit of a conversation here about the reversing wheels and risk of paint flaking off into the movement. Any chance you can provide your opinion on this? Should the reversing wheels be replaced for this reason, or are they okay?
Just heard from my watchmaker. The vs3135 movement accepts gen balance wheel and bridge with no modifications. Rep parts are much higher quality, but still recommended changing the reversing wheels.
My #1 annoyance when I examined my VS3135 closely was the color/quality of the finish on the reversing wheels. Not surprised to hear reports of paint flaking off. The finish of the reversing gears is far superior on the VR3135/QUOTE]
Finish on VR reversing wheel is shiny/satin, like anodized alluminium (i don't think or at least i hope it's not really alluminum) or metal with a clear colored varnish. It's mat on gen. It's maybe an efficient way to keep price down without lowering lifespan but it's maybe bold to call it "far superior".
The whole VR autowind assembly is simplified and not fully compatible with gen parts.

SS72 ahh thanks for bringing this to our attention. This is the only VS thread I follow because I am only interested in the movement rather than the full watch itself.
From the full VSF 116610 thread I can see sfbatman787 says...
Hopefully VS can sell some standalone movements soon, but the VRs are still damn good.
If you ask around and have good connection with TD they can source movements.
I have few vsf movements on my way as we speak.
Actually I managed to source one but it was 200$... that’s a little bit too expensive I think
