Oascom, if you were to recommend replacing any rep parts with gen in this VSF movement, which ones would they be?

Just like VR movement I think a nice upgrade is gen winding assembly.
maybe ratchet wheel for better finnish.

Other than that it looks ok, of course gen parts are superior to rep parts.

Today my VSF arrived, Although I have a problem, if I turn my hands the date changes perfectly, but the date does not automatically change. What could be the problem? Thanks to any help

Great stuff mate! The whole movement just looks so much better finished than the VR. What were the timegrapher results after service? Also wondering if a gen balance assembly would be a simple drop in, as the banking pins arent present on the new VS3135. oascom

This is some incredible photography, that electronic microscope is an absolute game changer!

Thanks for taking the time to put this together - the VSF movement looks absolutely gorgeous. Will certainly be trying to source one as an upgrade to my SA clone.

In a few of the comparison pics, if it would be possible at all could you please let us know which parts are 'Gen vs VSF' and which parts are 'VRF vs VSF'? The comparison photos are fantastic but admittedly I'm not entirely sure what is being compared :lol3:

Yeah I don't have gen balance to try it on but it would be cool

I have a bit of a newbie question, and I apologize in advance if this kind of thing has been asked and answered before. If a competent watchmaker looked at this VS3135 movement, would he instantly recognize that the movement isn't right and is a rep? How about a watchmaker that works for an AD?

If they would recognize that the movement is a clone then is there any advantage to going with a cloned 3135 movement over say one of the cloned ETA movements that been around awhile and is generally regarded as solid?

Yes he would.

You can easily install gen parts like hands DW etc on 3135 so it will look closer to gen on the outside.
