Where are you located? I know it was running about 30 days in the height of the pandemic and I guess we're back to that original height now actually.

But yeah - the problem is, while the watches have the logos of luxury items like Rolex and Panerai, they're not. They're not insured or anything. Nothing is declared of value.

The TDs package them up actually in a way so people (including customs) pays as little attention as possible. Which means they're also low priority so sometimes they sit for a while before they're shipped. The TDs package them so they get to us safely regardless of time it takes. But also so they don't get confiscated or examined so that we don't get assess taxes or anything too.

I have one on its way too and some packages take 10 days. Some take 30.

Yes, i am based in France and it usually took something like 10 days to reach my country, and as you said the way they shipped (TDs) with registered air mail is by far the saffest for me...since i am in the hobby, never had a package sized or lost. But believe me when you're close to 30 days of wait it's like you will never get the watch and
you start to give up and lose all hope :p
Keep our fingers crossed :praying:

In the midst of the pandemic, 2 watches were delivered to me, some I waited 50 days, others more than 70. You usually have other periods, but for posr, as such, a month is not a period. Everything will be fine!

I bought a watch M2M in like March or April and like 60 days later there was no sign of it. I gave up and just figured it was a loss. A d like almost a month later it ended up showing up. I saw the ship date and asked Alexa how many days between those two date and it replied "80 days exactly". I don't know know how I felt. Part of me was like "thank God" but part of me already wrote it off as a loss so it was like getting an extra watch

I know it's been mentioned a lot on this forum about Panerai liking posts of reps.

Panerai central posted the rep 1663. I just thought it was interesting..

I can't wait for this one to get here.

That's not the rep, I think.
The rep has de "REG." and "T.M." painted black...

My bet is also that it is a gen. The reg tm fonts are not the same as in the vsf images, the case material looks rougher and more variegated (although this may be a specific photo processing), and there is grain on the dial gradient, which is devoid of rep.

Hazing , why do you think this is a rep?

What we have seen so far of the 1663, the crown guard pin is not black. It is the same material as the crown guard and has that same grey color. So far in what we have been TD is the gen 1663, every example had that monotone crown guard.

Also the gen Panerai datewheel almost never looks so different t from the dial. They're always almost made so they react the same way to light so their dials and datewheel always have a very similar appearance.

The photo is clearly processed + the shadow seems to make the DW look darker, despite the fact that in the last photo rep published in this thread, the background of the date looks quite close in color to the dial. Anyway, everything about color is just guesswork, I haven't seen enough reliable photos to represent what the date might look like from any angle. However, a couple of comparisons of the photo you posted with the rep photo posted above, and a couple of rep and gen photos (presumably) from the internet.

While it is not clear with the DW tone, the CG fonts are clearly different, by the way, the gen crown seems to be "puffier" in most of the photos that I have seen, and also, the lever stop is thicker. Although, these are all my funny observations of some photos from Google, never holding either gen or rep in my hands.

The fibratech, used on gen, is a magma composite and looks more like stone.
The rep uses carbotech, and the difference is noticeable...

Fun watch tho, so I’ve ordered one (currently waiting for mine to arrive).

I've stayed away from this but then I see these pics and despite its flaws, I'm drawn to it again... hmmmmm
It really is a beautiful reference.

I was just talking to Kot1971 and said exactly that. He also asked me to post some pics upclose and from all sides.

And I don't know, I mean what we've seen for gen has been inconclusive so it the flaws might not be as bad as we think. Many of them anyway.

I just got it yesterday and haven't had a sunny day here yet so I tried to post pics in a few different lighting conditions.

Thanks a lot for the photo, Hazing !

In fact, I still don't understand what the CG pin should be, but the gray and protruding on GEN in the photo looks worse than the black and flat one. However, I think that removing PVD from a pin is clearly not the most difficult method compared to what previously had to be done with a factory watch.

Time will pass - we'll see, with a large number of gen photos with confirmed authenticity. Also, I want to comment that the black reg.tm. are clearly not painted and do not expose the original carbotech, as one might have assumed earlier. Apparently the surface of the cutter is a little more rough, and it is enough, with which, the font is only black at the corners. When the light hits the engraving directly, you can see that the inside of the font is the same color as the entire CG.

Small doubts about whether the cut of the date window has a white edge on the dial, or whether it is a reflection, but this is already quite nit-picking.

At this stage, I have only one question left: the material of the case, from experience, is it the same carbotech as always before, or is there something new?
