I have been running an e-commerce business for 20 years. I have never seen such an attitude, neither by a customer nor by a supplier.
July 17 He receives a watch for full service and crystal replacement (new blistered crystal included in package). Quoted 20 working days without ever mentioning that he is on holiday all August. After many messages he replies "Hi, august doesn’t count- we’re closed for summer holidays". How should I know? Shouldn't I have been informed from the beginning? I would have sent the watch early September. Anyway I say, no big deal. I'll just have to wait a little bit longer.
September 10 I receive an email that the watch is ready. I pay that same day via PP F&F. I trust him and never ask for photos or anything.
September 17 I send him an email asking for the tracking number. No reply.
September 19 I send a kind reminder about the tracking number. No reply.
September 23 I receive an email that states "Packages will leave this Wednesday"
September 25 He sends me a UPS tracking number which to this day (5 days later) does not correspond to anything. "UPS does not yet have the package. The estimated delivery date will be available once we receive the package."
20 days since I paid and I still don't know where my watch is! Of course he's not replying to my messages.
I run a business and totally understand that delays can happen but I cannot accept this lack of communication. Sending an email or replying to a message takes max 20 seconds. If you're too busy and can't keep up, you should stop taking new orders until you finish the old ones. Also, when someone pays you to do a specific job, it's not a hobby (as I've seen him mentioning here), it's called business. And doing business means showing some respect to your customer.
