Ok, so how much is a "thicker case" exactly?

2121 is 3.05 mm in height whereas the ETA 2824 is 4.60 mm

~ 1.50 mm at least.

Guess the above gives a ballpark figure. For me, part of the beauty (and comfiness) of these kind of watches is in their slim profile.

I think we’re talking about 10x in price between one and the other. Kinda like getting a ZF 15202 and a CNC one with gen 2121. Not even sure CNC cases exist for it but I’ll shut up about this here and keep that to the AP section lol

If the 2824 case is under 10mm, I am happy, I take it
finding a gen mvt would be an grail task anyway

In my opinion, this is rather good news. He knows that finding a gen movement is both rare and expensive.

It opens the door to some rather nice franken with a very nice dial and superb hands. It remains to be seen what the factory can come up with, but I'm pleasantly surprised by this latest news !

i do think he meant 2824 as he will be aiming at the viet price bracket probably
That said, if a case is meant for a 3.01mm mvt, a 3.6 can be made to fit without rotor...and it also means that the ETA hands will be compatible

so yeah, news is not so bad

I still think this may just be an elusive watch, like it seems impossible to buy from this guy at the moment, so when the watch releases I don't really get how we are all going to buy it from him. Hopefully it will become available through other channels. I also wish he would consider a quartz, as it just seems pointless shoehorning this automatic movement in there. I did message him a few months ago saying that there are a number of people interested in quartz but again he just didn't reply or even read the message.

Leave him alone...i mean, we have the 8+F reps which are in different colours and also Weighted, i don't see in which way Xing Patrick can match the current offering.

Is the gold on the 8+ as muted as the gen?
Certain photos have it looking like bright yellow gold.
If that is the case, is the stainless with black dial a better option? I really like the high contrast of the black dial.

If you're trying to compare to Gen, anything not gold from 8+ is fantasy
