Honestly? I wouldn't care at all. As long as you like the combo, it´s perfectly ok. Why shouldn´t a Rep have "better" colour variations than the Gen? ;-)

In my social circle it is very hard to find someone, who at least knows what Vacheron Constantain is ... and my bubble is quite sophisticated, most people don´t even know the difference between a mechanical watch and a quartz watch *lol*

I think that, especially bertween 'casual' people, Tissot is more famous than VC...i mean, like Porsche is more famous than Koenigsegg in a certasin way
A normal person does NOT know what a VC is.

I love this one an I am very tempted to give it a try, but as I said before, I have reservations about the gold tone. The Historiques has a rather light, pale tone, which is imo very characteristic for the model. A modder could probably rework it for a lot of money. I might even consider that. But then the rest should also be right. The DW window isn't that bad for me, but the dial color also looks a bit too dark for me in the pictures so far, which would then clash with the real YG tone. So I'll wait for the first RL pictures ;-)

This further clarifies what is going on:
1) There is an existing VC222 case set for gen movement that is seriously expensive and no bracelet yet exists
2) He knows this won’t sell easily, so he’s seeing if that factory can make an accurate VC222 with 2824 (which I would much prefer!)

i have the same interpretation, except that I feel he is asking the thicker case to another factory
I wonder how much thicker is thicker
