Thank you @xj4sonx I appreciate the feedback. I know about the difference in the case back material and the intent behind it but this particular watch seemed to have developed a rather significant patina or the case back was simply brighter and more goldish color than the others I have seen. Maybe my eyes are playing a trick but do you think the contrast and the level of existing patina is OK?

Any other comments? I am about to pull the trigger on this one so I greatly appreciate any feedback!

Folks, just received my QC pics for the KW bronze and I am a bit puzzled with the level of patina it came with and the contrast between the current state of the patina and the steel back case. I would greatly appreciate any feedback (numbers and markers look good to me, and I can't see any flaw other than the patina level and the contrast thing...which may not be a flow).

Shall I reject this, too much patina already? Thanks in advance

PS: Here is the link to the whole album but I will post a few pics here as reference

Here is my thought, those cases have been manufacturer for who knowsometimes how long now. Based on the patina level of yours and many many others mine included they have been sitting waiting for assembly for quite sometime. Maybe the case back on yours was just produced recently: )

Haha, good points! I think I am going to go ahead and accept this one then (thank you for the feedback, I really appreciate it). I hate to be that guy asking bunch of questions about the QC pics BUT, what do you think about the watch I posted in general, anything jumps at you? I think all looks good but a second eye is always welcome and appreciate :D

Friend qc pics are not for us to tell you if we see anything wrong your 1st question was on a specific concern you had so I answered but I will not weigh in on if I see something else that is for you to decide

I really dig the Black Bay Bronze, but every time I see one I can't help thinking the patina looks like how my old Canal St/Melrose Ave reps would eventually turn out when the "stainless steel" plating wore off the tin pot-metal cases!

LOL!

Has anyone tried white vinegar and baking soda method instead of ketchup bath? I am planning on resetting the patina (I kinda really like the shiny goldish look) and was wondering if I could imply dump the watch in the white vinegar/salt solution for a little bit instead of messing w ketchup? I assume dumping the watch in the solution would generate more even results?

Just got my KW and it's a nice watch. Except I find the bezel loose and wobbly. Anyone know how to fix this?

Hmm, sorry to hear that...I sure don't know how to fix it but I am sure there are bunch of members here who do.

Anyone else experienced this problem, is it common?

You got the wrong watch if you like it shiny. That's not what this watch is all about. It's about letting this watch age with some beautiful patina to it. If you want shiny, get a gold watch.

I hear you but I was simply hoping that I would start fresh from it's shiny stage and witness the development of patina over time. I think I have a pretty good patina developed already on the watch (probably at the level where most folks are trying to get to) - still trying to decide if I want to reset it and start over or move on with the way it is (thoughts?)

If you want to reset it and start fresh that's one thing. I'm going to do the same thing shortly as soon as I know it's waterproofed. My TD says it is, but I don't exactly trust that it is. You made it sound like you like the watch fresh and clean with no patina. If that's how you like this watch, you're going to be cleaning it an awful lot to keep it shiny.

But yeah, by all means clean her up. I think we've all done that when we got it.

Nope, just want to start fresh, that's it. What method do you recommend? I have some metal polish and was planning on using that. Dumping it in vinegar sounds easy too...suggestions are most welcome :)

For reset, I found ketchup with baking soda worked great, only takes a few minutes

Has anyone noticed the listing for the KW v2 at trustytime? Looks like they may have darkened the dial

Hmm...just checked that out. V6f looks more gen like to me that this v2. I think the dial is way too dark on this one. Not sure why kW would make a v2 as the first version seems pretty spot on.
