V2 3135 Sub C

Since the "launch" of the V2 3135 clone movement last week, I've contemplated getting the sub c but was hesitant because I didnt want a noob case. As you know, removing the bezel is next to impossible on a noob without risking major damage to the assembly and more importantly, yourself.

I've asked a couple of sources, including Angus if he can confirm if the new watch is simply a noob, or from another maker. They claim that the movement itself can accept Gen replacement parts, but what about the bezel assembly and crown/tube? Both sources could not verify if this was the case.

But as I was driving in to work today, I thought I would look at a comparison between the new V2 3135 case (http://puretime.co/shop/product/submariner-116610-ln-sa3135-best-edition-v2/) and the noob that we are all familiar with:

You will notice that the crown alignment on the case is where it should be, as opposed to the lower location of the noobs. So that's a good start. So CG trimming may not be required at all.

But if you look at the bezel, they look completely different. The fluting seems to be cut slightly deeper so that the bottom of the flutes are closer to the chamfer at the bottom of the bezel, which I believe, is more "correct".
At the same time, note the height of the crystal on the V2...Not as flush compared to the noobs. I believe this too is more correct.

This suggests to me that these new V2 subs originate from a different factory.

However, I'm no expert. Just thought I'd post my observation. I may take the plunge and report back.

Great post +1, the V2 looks interesting from the comparison photo, the Bezel looks slightly different as well, interested to heard what some of the experts think about this.

The rotor engraving looks great too. Has anyone bought this version and reviewed it?

Edit - silly question as its only been out a few days.

How do you make sure the case it water tight?
OK I found it. Grease the O-rings and test in a water tank under pressure.

Sorry , but the Crown Position is wrong.
I was confused with the GMT.

Junio,

I think you're incorrect actually. The V2 crown position seems more correct than the noob's.

This is a photo of a gen 116610 side profile:

The angle of the photo in your example does not highlight the position clearly.

Plus, you will notice that the coronet on the V2 (what should we call this?) case is more elongated as opposed to the chubby coronet on the noob.

I've noticed something else that might be disturbing.

Look at the "Swiss Made" on the dial. Should they not be in-between the hash marks (27min - 32min) rather than on top of them??

So now we need a "voluntary." :)
Someone who purchases it to verify everything. Make a Gen vs REP , as I wrote above.
Who wants to do....? :D
I certainly do not. I do not like the "Ceramics".

I already ordered one. It shipped yesterday.

Well aren't you a quick little devil.

I demand pics upon receipt. Slightly worried about the date wheel alignment. But that will most likely require a TC/BK DW upgrade anyways.

Looking good. The font of the bezel seems to be more correct. Crown guards are superb.

At some point we may have to consider replacing the dial. Not 100% certain about the placement of "Swiss made".

Date wheel needs to be addressed as well but should be an easy fix.

Otherwise looks great. I can't wait to get mine! Congrats!

Yes , look fine...... :)
But the punching 18 Kt yellow gold under the case , is a heart attack.:asshat:
This is a macroscopic error....! :junio:
And you can not even remove them because engraved thoroughly....!
Bahhhhh....:picard:
