Through socialist solidarity we must organize varied layers of poor and working-class individuals. We must concentrate our efforts in intercity ghettos, boarder barrios, factory floors, antiwar protests, labor unions and the like. The employed must see the benefits of helping the unemployed. Full employment must be a basic goal. Rural White farm workers must realize their brotherhood with unemployed intercity Black youth. Petty bourgeois union leaders must recognize their ties with undocumented immigrant workers. Drug War prisoners (American political prisoners) must be ready to join hands with ailing militants and seek to overthrow a medical system where the sick are imprisoned and their sicknesses targeted for capitalist exploitation. Through this unity we will recognize our strength and form revolutionary parties that will transform our society to a truly democratic one.

then how are you going to explain to them they get to pay for the mess the currant administration has strapped them and their children with?

Oh, I just told 'em that's why they won't be having any candy for the rest of the year...

You know, up 'til now, I've been working really hard in a highly competitive environment, in order to "get ahead" and provide for my family. There is something really calming about the knowledge that I'll be able to work and compete a little less, and still have my family's basic needs fulfilled.

I think I'm going to like this new bottom-up economy! There are better times ahead for this lazy-ass dad! :)

Yes, its interesting. Thank you for your comments, comrade.

It must be our basic goal to organize and educate the worker. We now see that this is a pre-revolutionary period and we must be well prepared to take control of our communities and our lives. If we believe in democracy we must also believe in economic democracy. Today the richest 10 percent own 90 percent of the wealth. This is not democracy but aristocracy. In modern U.S. society the wealthy minority enjoy economic and governmental privileges while those doing the work are denied basic rights (e.g. the right to vote in corporate governance, the right to make decisions that effect everyday work life etc.). If we are all created equal then we should also share the same economic rights. Although equal rights in economic outcome are important, we speak here of the equal rights of economic opportunity. You, comrade avitt, will be our inspiration. Thank you.

Young and Dumb! Read your history! I've lived in your country and fought for your country, you obviously don't realize that your National Health doesn't work, your Taxes are ridiculous and your Labor party has screwed things up for 100 years and you have given the Majestic Britain over to the Muslim radicals. Wait!!!! Do I have to pay VAT on this post? Look around you , what do you see? The last great PM you had was Maggie Thatcher and she had our respect. Look at your current state of affairs my old son! In a word, Diabolical! Now run along and collect your dole! Twit!

Maxlove, you are a friend and true patriot. Maxlove recognizes that people work best when they work for their own self-interest. He recognizes that if workers invest their lives and full-time labor in businesses they are entitled to livable wages, business profits and equal treatment under the law. Business profits belong to those that create it and humane business practices are due to the society as a whole. The idea is simple: business profits increase if those who produce the wealth are those that benefit from the profits. Therefore instead of paying employees as little as possible, employees should be paid well because they are human-beings selling their full-time labor and should be rewarded based on their contribution. Thanks Maxlove.

Woah, where to start?

Thatcher: When she dies, I have a bottle of Champagne on ice. No, really. She destroyed so much of this country we're still paying the price.

National Health: Have you ever read an OECD health report? The US pays per capita the same as Canada and the UK combined and has worse care than both.

I've read my history and I've read yours. You appear to be misinformed, but I'm used to that from people here.

Pugwash, I have an idea... Another way to mix the private industrious nature of U.S. society with the ethical measures of socialism is to utilize Venture Communism (VC). Venture Communist Funds (VCF) are money provided by public investors (governmental programs, NGOs, workers pension funds etc.) and private contributors (individual workers, Workers Associations, capital investors etc.) that aim to increase the socialist goals of full employment, worker opportunity and dynamic economics. Investors could expect a reasonable return on their investments with a majority of the profits reinvested in the VCF so it can continue its primary purpose of increasing worker opportunity. Sounds good no?

Cybee, I see you're catching on. Try this: Venture Communist Funds (VCF) provide capital investments in businesses that can become major economic contributors to the socialist society. The VCF could add capital investment, financing and assist with new product development. The Venture Communist (VC) department or program could evaluate businesses for economic vitality and need of capital investments and business direction. Existing businesses, start-up businesses and individual entrepreneurs could apply for VCF grants from the local VC. The VC could form a limited-partnership with the Workers Association in a worker-owned, socialized business. The VC may offer professional guidance in business management, strategic marketing and general economic planning but the control of the business would remain in the hands of the workers. If workers have visions for business and societal successes, the Venture Communist program can provide the financial backing to help them achieve their goals. Sort of like a bailout plan for small business owners.

LOL.. thanks Doc but I am nothing a lowly watch tinkerer although I do appreciate your passion for your beliefs and you seemed to have it all figured out, but I think you may have misread my intentions. :D

It's threads like these when I really miss the "wit and wisdom" of the banned 10 K poster.

Is it just me or is McCain pulling away in the poll?

Awesome Seven, right to the point! 8)

It really troubles me some people would go to the extent of heavily taxing the people who've worked so hard in getting a high income; doctors, dentists, lawyers, businessmen, etc. Their basically being punished for being successful. *sigh*

People are going to vote for Obama because he represents things that they believe in. Not for any other reason.

@guanaco. Don't worry man. Obama will take care of everything.
