You are right, but it begs the point: Why did he opt out of public funding? Why did he break his promise not to take private donations? I know: So tht he could get as much as possible to spend. How else would he have had money to get his seat on his private jet embroidered with: "President" and the United States of Obama seal? Would have had to dump the $5 million movie idea too. Would not have been able to outspend McCain 7 to 1 in most battleground states.

I'm sorry, but I just can't get past the fact that you just sound bitter he's leading in the polls. He opted not to get public funding because he simply didn't need it.

Where does public funding come from? Think about it; the answer is in the name. If he'd have taken it, you'd be complaining about that instead.

Look again. The general trend here is to the right, so it'd make sense that McCain leads from time to time.

He'll win the poll here and may, if he's very lucky, win the election. It's not all decided yet.

So my kids just got home from a little trick-or-treating...It's hard to believe that there is a recession going on, based on the heavily laden candy sacks that they were carrying. They dumped all of their candy on the floor, and started assessing their booty.

I looked longingly at the piles. Then it occurred to me...

I told them that a new day was dawning, and that we had better start to embrace the new ideals. I explained to my daughters that, although I did not do any of the legwork, I would still like to have some candy. The enjoyment of candy is a basic right to which I am entitled, I argued. I pointed out that they had candy, and I had none. By giving me a fair share of their candy (one-third each), they could help to spread the wealth, and allow candy to be enjoyed by more people.

Needless to say, it didn't go over too well...

I would like to think that no matter who is elected president, the citizens are resilient enough to endure though any administration. Jefferson said that "a little rebellion is necessary for sound government." We have a lot of professional talkers these days on radio and TV, but talk is cheap. Only time will tell how willing we are to once again fight for what we believe.
