I have to chime in cause I have the gen, and this looks really close.
1. the gen rubber strap links and clasp should all be titanium
2. the gen rubber that UN uses is specialized and the best rubber, better than Hublots, anti-allergenic and has a vanilla smell to it...the area around the link should be smooth and it does slide under the link...the rubber is very well made...no chance of it getting cut by the links...no worries there
3. the gen date window is a polished chrome tube with a depth of about 1/8" down to where the date wheel is...that is the most notable difference
4. the gen markers are highly luminous and are bubble shaped white
5. the gen S/N plate is white gold I believe...I have to get it out of the sock drawer and check again
6. the gen movement is a UN modified 2892(3)-2...I think...but what makes it special is that the watch has to be modified in all places because the blue rhodium coating adds an additional layer of thickness to the parts
7. only the special edition UN watches have the transparent caseback...cool feature...the normal UN Max Marine Divers have soild caseback and regular silver colored movement
all in all...this is my favorite watch...and this copy looks really close
the polished UN bracelet will fit on this...but in my opinion, it makes the watch look too much blingy...the way it comes it just perfect
also...I do think that a Black Surf will be coming out...I have seen photos...it looks stealth like, markers and all...like the B&R stealth
I will try and post photos in near future...I have to look into setting up a photobucket account first.
