the last dealing with TWP turned me off to the point I have become stagnet on any board or reps for that matter. I seem to never post or lurk either. i went from hours a day to maybe once a week. In the end I was one of the lucky ones getting a refund and I wish everyone else did as well.

Since others have dregged this thread up... I'll go ahead and add my .02cents.

I purchased 2 watches from TWP last November, both through the board here... I received one in mid-December and it wasn't as advertised. I expected a watch without a bezel and a damaged band and a second new condition, dead movement watch to pull parts from... I got the watch without a bezel and a dead watch with all the usable parts already stripped.... never got the parts I needed. He never made good on it even after multiple promises to ship the parts I needed.
The other watch I didn't receive till sometime in February (I think)...
On both watches I received several "your watch shipped" emails... then waited weeks and nothing... then excuses... then nothing... then finally I find that basically I paid about 500$ for a SSD and a Swiss SFSO... and between the two have one functional/wearable watch and a pile of crap parts. I sold the SFSO parts (Less movement) to cover some of my loss... but in the end I figure I paid about 380$ for a SSD and a spare ETA 2824-2.

I think that if i ever purchase another rep, I'll stick with Josh/Andrew (and DSN)... they might charge a bit more, but at least they deliver what they promise.

I don't think (other than WBK) I'll ever buy another watch from a CONUS dealer (WBK excluded... he's done me fine several times)

as to twp

people have problems

as to dealers..

lol

you limit yourself to higher prices, ok

but not necessary

are far more dealers than you have chosen

who give good service, after care, and better pricing..

Life is Good!

It is a shame how many member TWP screwed over. Another sad story in a tragically long list. I could not agree more with you about Stan at WBK. He has been one of the finest dealers to do business with. I have enjoyed and been more than satisfied with every transaction I have conducted with him. Truly a PRINCE among men.

Could not agree more..

and perhaps we might count blessings not to have afflictions of twp

personally.. is patently obvious that the guy was attacked by demons..

so, if you see a demon on horizon, hide

see one close, duck!

It was sad. I personally had a number of dealings with TWP and they were all fantastic. My experience with him was a far cry from what others saw. He certainly screwed up big time and the shame of it is the wake of people he left behind that are out their hard earned money.

For everyonr we lose there are 5 other dealers that would love to be on that list.

Sucks that people lost $

He gained trust mad e agood rep for himself then abused that trust to swindle people. Shame of it

do not think it is likely he put so much effort (listing, selling, doing mods, website) for a simple swindle..

more occam's razor stuff.. kid diagnosed with autism on top of multiple watch shipment seizures..

is like stigma because of a mental illness.. every body blames the dog that is down...

just my take

No Klink I do not think he ever set out to swindle anyone. I think he got in over his head and then just dropped out of sight. I do not think that it makes much difference to the people that are out their money, however, but it is a good point. The communications I had with him he seemed to be a really good guy and he was around for quite some time. I think he had every intention to do the right thing when he started out. Hell, I don't think he intended to screw everyone involved until he let it get totally out of control at the very end.

The thing about it though is that he had a shaky rep prior to that time.
