Thanks for the great pics. Maybe I'm being too optimistic, but it looks like the dial printing is improved over the older shield models, in fact it looks similar in quality to the BB S&G. Anyone else notice this? If they have in fact improved the dial printing I'll probably have to pick one of these up

You know, I just noticed this. And this was my biggest complaint with my BBR. It just may push me to pick one up along with the Pepsi when its released.

Hi guys,

I just signed up to this forum after being a regular visitor for 9 months. In that time I have purchased a few replicas based on the advise given.

Now onto the Tudor Black Bay Harrods special Edition. I am fortunate enough to have the gen but as I do not want to use it and scratch it over time I purchased the ZF from Toro which arrived yesterday. I currently have it on the brown strap which I also got from Toro and must say that a good quality strap makes the watch look different and my personal opinion is that it looks better on leather than SS bracelet.

I have compared them both together and can see where the ZF is not on parr.

Rotor Noise - ZF version is bit noisy (but can live with it)
Dial Print - The green text on the ZF is a different shade of green and should be the same colour as the bezel. The same goes for the print in general, it is not as raised as the gen.
Seconds hand - On the ZF the green hand is once again a different shade and should be the same colour as the bezel
Hour Markers - These are much flatter on the ZF. The gen is slightly raised and has rounded edges on the gold.
Bezel - The clicks on the bezel sound different and there is some play on it.
Crown - Not engraved deep enough like the gen
Case back - Not as deep as the gen and the text size is a touch small.
Lume - The lume is really good but does not last long as the gen but this is expected. Slightly off in terms of shade but brighter than the gen

Overall I would say 90% like gen and for that price you cant go wrong.

I don't have any pics of the two side by side but happy to take some and post to this thread if anyone is interested.

Thanks for sharing mate, great comparison! And I for one would love a few side by side pics, especially if you're able to highlight some of the points you raise. Thanks for taking the time.

Awesome post, thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed breakdown

Do you notice a little hole in the centre of the hands on the rep that is filled in by a little gold cap on the Gen?

Thanks!

I would definitely go ahead and buy the harrods rep. I am pleased with it. No one will know the small flaws unless they have one themselves and what are the chances of that as these are hard to come by.

Thanks!

To the human eye this is barely noticeable. You will need a loupe to see the pinhole

That's the Gen?

I thought the Gen had was capped over the second hand/canon pinion?

No it’s not the gen. It’s ZF. the second hand is not painted all the way to the lume dot. That’s bothering me. But I love the watch :)

The Gen doesn’t have a second hand painted all the way it too is green for the end / tip
