How reliable would an A2836 be with this kind of hand stack?

Are these GMT-incorporated 2836 replaceable with an ETA 2836 if the movement has issues?

As the name A2836 suggests it is a direct copy of an ETA 2836
Thank you! Do you know if there is anything special about modifying the GMT hand into a 2836 movement that makes it harder (or not possible) to swap out for a non-modified stock 2836?

If that case front pic is a side-by-side and not copy pasted together then the diameter looks same.

From the pictures it looks like the lume in the GMT Hand is different. But why? In Gen it seems all hands have same lume. Anybody has seen the Gens lume?

Brace for impact.

The 2836 is the day date version of a 2824.

What they do is, they remove the day wheel and replace it with a hand pinion that will move work as a GMT hand and work in unison with the 2836’s function capability in the crown’s second position.

Normally, moving the crown forward moves the date and backwards the day. In this case. You move the crown backwards and it will flip the GMT hand.

This is the way it has been done since GMT reps exist. So, it’s a very solid mechanism. Better news is, should you get a gen ETA 2836, you can transplant this GMT module into it.

Reliability at the cost of an incorrect stack.

That's very good news, definitly ordering one!
I hope the miyota 9075, wich is a true caller gmt movement, will be available anytime soon as it would be the perfect replacement with correct handstack and same function as gen. Wait and see.
