As the name A2836 suggests it is a direct copy of an ETA 2836How reliable would an A2836 be with this kind of hand stack?
Are these GMT-incorporated 2836 replaceable with an ETA 2836 if the movement has issues?
Thank you! Do you know if there is anything special about modifying the GMT hand into a 2836 movement that makes it harder (or not possible) to swap out for a non-modified stock 2836?As the name A2836 suggests it is a direct copy of an ETA 2836
Nope, the info from Intime is wrong. It´s 39mm ;-)41mm.... they used the heritage case?

Crystal clear answer! Thank you for taking the time to explain.Brace for impact.
The 2836 is the day date version of a 2824.
What they do is, they remove the day wheel and replace it with a hand pinion that will move work as a GMT hand and work in unison with the 2836’s function capability in the crown’s second position.
Normally, moving the crown forward moves the date and backwards the day. In this case. You move the crown backwards and it will flip the GMT hand.
This is the way it has been done since GMT reps exist. So, it’s a very solid mechanism. Better news is, should you get a gen ETA 2836, you can transplant this GMT module into it.
Reliability at the cost of an incorrect stack.
