Boy that looks great, nicely recessed all the way around the bezel ring. Perfect pearl which glows nicely matching my relumed dial & hands

I must say TonyBevilsizer was right it was a super tight fit! But a little baby oil goes a long way, snapped right in and I'm now confident :D

Thanks for the tip bro!

And feels great too;)

Such a beautiful build, just ordered a jkf tudor submariner. If its anything close to yours i'd be over the moon. Great job!

Awsome build and real competition for the rolex sub! Nice job.
you make the case reshaping seem easy :p some tips for reshaping?

Thanks buddy! The biggest tip I'd give is make markings as where and how far to take the shapening not to go over.. also remembering not to "roll over" your lug tips keeping them pointy without rounding them

Gotcha!

will probably give it a go with an old Corgeut bb hommage diver before I will try on one of my real watches. Want to do it to the tudor and to my datejust with raffles caseset. Have never done a polish before haha.

will report back

Now many probably seen this tudor 79090 popping up here and there on wristy threads because I just couldn't wait to wear it before it was finally finished!! LOL

I've had quite the experience with WSO endlinks that was a total nightmare!! I've returned 2 sets!! They are absolutely junk as many memebers here can confirm.

finally I purchased raffles 580 endlinks and am quite happy with them after a bit of fine tuning/brushing oh and they require to bore out the spring bar brackets as they are 1.xx in size where I'm using 2mm shoulderless bars.

I also went back and forth looking for a gen dial but couldn't pin a nice dial for a decent price! So yeah you guessed it....went with yuki (for now) I'm actually not too disappointed with it the print is decent enough for me could use a relume (in plans) for a later time...

Have a look

you can see my relumed hands there ;)

alright already I've kept you in suspense long enough here's the "for now" finished sub.

I present to you The TUDOR SUBMARINER

Hope you've enjoyed this little sub build!

In future plans are:

- change out that hideous date wheel
- install h3/h4 pinions (raise the hands off the dial)
- better insert & pearl
- better dial (possibly gen)
- gen clasp

build specs as follows

- veitnam case set
- athaya crown & tube
- veitnam hands (eta)
- sellita movement (2824 base)
- raffles 580 endlinks
- veitnam insert and pearl
- yuki dial
- gen spec 25-144 crystal (swiss made)

Thanks for watching and tuning in folks!
Hi mate.. I also have a Vietnam case and the crystal that came with the watch seems very loose.. I can pop the bezel and retaining ring off with my hands.. it seems the crystal may be little too small.. I plan on getting the 25-144 crystal size also.. do U happen to know the outer diameter of gen spec crystal.? The one that came with the case is 39.1mm diameter.. thanks any advice would be great..
Lovely watch by the way.. this was the inspiration for me building mine.
