Oh just heard from Ruby today that there will be an updated version for the $500+ model with sapphire bezel instead of mineral glass which will cost only a fraction of the price. :roll:

I would say that the 500+ version has many versions too... If you refer to my post on the black ceramic J12, it has different bracelet type (I suppose it's version 1 ) But the quality of the ceramic certainly is almost the same (scratch resistance). If Ruby say so, take wait and see approach.

Yes the 500+ version is for my mum. I got it much less than that.

As far as I know the regular Chanel gens are Quartz, unless youa re talking about a Superllegera (spell) chrono - that one is an auto... So if you have a regular Chanel Auto 21J that would not be a correct for the 1:1 gen movement.

@SLK: I don't think you're right. For ladies version 33mm, Yes it's only available for Quartz. However, in the case of men's version of 38mm, they have both version. Anyway FYI, the real one uses ETA2892-A2 movement.

I picked up the CZ version for the girlfriend (her B-Day is this weekend) but I cant post the pictures yet- she checks my flickr account all the time hehe.

I was worried about the color/finish of the ceramics- needles to say I'm impressed!

FYI, got the watch from Andrew and it's the $200 version. Ditto about the chemical smell in the box. I was taken back by the odor of PVC and other nasty plastics/adhesives, but everything else is spot-on. I'll give the watch its' special day in front of my camera as soon as she has the watch.

Maxse, you have caused inconvenience to many a watch collector here by filing your claim as you did. I have done a good deal of business with both Joshua and Andrew. They are both honorable men concerned about their reputations and their standing in the eyes of the members of rep forums, and there is no doubt that the matter would have been resolved had you not behaved in such a petulant manner.

The gist of this in a nutshell is that you owe everyone here and actually rep collectors around the world an apology for screwing up a viable payment method that makes the customer feel secure. Yes paypal sucks and all that but that is not the point here. You made a major ass guffaw and should as a matter of courtesy to your fellow rep collector extend a written apology to members of this forum for your actions. If you can see that what you did was not kosher then I am sure many here will feel better about you, if not well then so be it.

As far as I know though the current $500 model has saphire crystal as does the $200 model... This is coming straight from Ruby...

Oh and crick I highly recommend this watch. I think it is an awesome ladies watch. It can be dressed down to casual or go nice with a nice dress as well. Highly recommend, and I will post pictures when I get the watch and Ill be in a better position to compare the two because I have held the expensive one in my hands as well.

BTW DEV. I dont see why the need to get all pissy if someone asks who has the best sub. True I spent many hours reading before posting here, BUT not everyone who comes here is computer savy or is familiar with Bulletin Boards/Forums... Some dont realize they can search or even how to and/or are overwhlemed with all the info.. No rerason why we cant help a newb out once in a while. So calm down it's not a sin if some newbie asks that question and you are not smart because you realized not to ask it...

The sapphire vs mineral glass is not the crystal but I presume it's the bezel glass.

hmm didnt know there was glass on the bezel itself... I guess I didnt look into it because I opted for the CZ version...

Ruby did say that Josh does not have the highest quality one listed. There is one that is even more "high quality" than his but she couldnt get it at the time...

Damn this is so confusing. They should have just made 2 different kinds lol.

eghh I dont even know anymore lol. It's really hard to see the difference on pics. I'll try to be as descriptive as possible when I get mine. Im also getting the urge to find a Chanel around me that has the watch so I can compare/contrast...

But I must warn you guys who want to splurge for the highest quality one like I did. A lot of them have brown stains on the bracelets. Like the one Josh sent me. And then ruby went through 2 more watches for me and all had this problem. Meanwhile everyone who has recieved the lower quality one did not have any complaints. So buyer beware.

If you are referring to the bezel, the black one has correct font but wrong bracelet style (old top end model).
