Olivia, I think that post was a jab at what a very serious thread as degraded into. While I'm all for a little levity to cut the tension, this is a serious matter and should not be left to die on the vine, IMO.

The thread is dead, it was taken so seriously. Now we have to read about what great dealers they are.....still, Ruby is getting hands on stuff that they have too. Perhaps the market is opening up. One thing is for sure, I will defer from buying from those 4. I have other more trusted sources.

My 2 main dealers have yet to let me down after multiple purchases for me, family, friends and colleagues. I have no communication, quality or customs issues with any of them and their watches are always a delight and exceed expectations....not to mention their pens!

It all comes down to making an informed choice....I've been informed and I'm making my choice, just like I do when making any purchase....car, house, clothes, women etc. :lol:

that will be up to the admin but i am like emmzy. i know where to buy the same products, from the same factories for less money and be told the truth while i am doing it.

if people still think they are getting a good deal from those dealers i am happy for them.

Rant, rave, blah blah. It boils down to just one thing, we are buying illegal goods from a communist country halfway around the world.

The reason why China's GDP is exploding (10% a year real growth) and our dealers are clearly profit-seeking is because China is no longer strictly communist - only lip service. The wealth divide is even greater there than here.

Local economies are now essentially capitalist - and they do what we do - subsidize industry to keep people employed.

Ruby does have a good description of her services. But, her last edit was 2 weeks before this thread started. Where is this other post that is supposed to describe what dealers are supposed to do? Can only Dealers and Admins see it? Supposed to be public? I have not found it.

Guys, forgive me for not sharing this sooner. I don't know why I didn't, but it just dawned on me that this might be important to post in this thread.

A few months ago I opened the back of my vintage Cali dial Radiomir that I bought nearly a year ago from Joshua. It was advertised as having a Molnija movement. Much to my surprise, I found a Swiss 6497 in there! I emailed Joshua about it and his reply was that there were too many problems with the Molnijas and so his supplier switched to the Swiss 6497s. I told him I thought he should update the description on his website (I don't think he has).

This certainly doesn't undo all the other negative misrepresentations that were talked about in this thread. I just wanted to share the fact that the consumer doesn't lose out in EVERY case of incorrect information. Take from this what you will...

However, with all the negative stories being aired about movement misrepresentation, I thought I should post my positive one, too. As I said, it doesn't excuse anything.

I don't see the problem. This is business. I would do the same thing if I were a member of this so-called "cartel." That's the way the market works. From JD Rockefeller to Bill Gates. It's good business strategy. Can't fault them for that. The market will decide what a fair price is. If this cartel's prices are too high, people will stop buying, and prices will stablize or drop.

I'm so far happy with the big bad evil four. They don't call this the Dark Side for nothing. Keep up the good work!
