You assume I have a video camera. :D

take a bunch of photos and make a movie out of it :D LOL

good point my friend.

Pretty sad when it comes to this. What does it prove that you didnt do it yourself. This can be replayed any way that you want it to play out.

I take photos because I want to document the condition a watch arrives in. They're for my protection, not the dealer's. They are not proof that I didn't swap the watch for a brick, but they are proof that the watch is broken or not the one I ordered. Luckily for me, I can't remember ever having to rely on them. That's not going to stop me from doing it though.

it is also pretty good to prove customs took your shit. not everybody has this green tape laying around their house. but then on the other hand dealers like el don't care anyway so it still didn't do any good.

My apologies to moose then. I have not frequented RWG for a while hence my doubt on you.

I hope you'd get this matter resolved with the trusted dealer then.

How was the packaging on the outside together with the custom slip? Do you remember if it looked tampered? Does it look different from the usual packaging from previous orders from the dealer? I highly doubt it happened in the drop-shipping, as if this is the case, the drop-shipper would be an idiot.

why in F***ks sake would you post that you recieved a rock in the mail then not post the dealers name?? That just makes absolutely no F*****king sense at all...And because your working it out doesnt help anyone here either, maybe we would like to know who to "Avoid" dealing with so we dont get rocks as well.....

Damn, why do you people do that shit........just pisses me off.

I would keep the dealer out of it myself unless he was ducking me on the issue. The odds of this being the dealer’s fault are slim at best. How far would he get on this one? Just get his name plastered all over Internet and lose a shitload of business. No logical reason for a dealer to stick a forum member with this. It takes a lot of work to get a good name around here and almost nothing to lose it overnight. I have to take his/her reputation seriously. We have already seen these things get real blown out of proportion before.

There are just as many newer buyers blackmailing dealers in situations such as this so you can't jump to conclusions anyway. (nothing implied here at all) . This kind of crap is just part of doing business for both us and the dealers.

If three people posted receiving a rock or similar thing I would PM them to see if it was the same dealer and if so, then post it. Let the chips fall where they may on that one.

I think he's doing the right thing by not mentioning dealer name "yet".

like everyone else already mentioned, it must have been either drop-shipper's fault or custom issues....it's hard to believe one of our dealers purposesly did this....but then again, either dealer's fault or not, it is dealer's responsibility to take care of this crap.

so until then, it shouldn't be neccesary to name the dealer yet.....

let's see how it turns out and if the dealer doesn't corporate.....then he MUST name the dealer so that others can avoid this kinda bullshit....

who remembers the ending of the incident someone got his watch with the crystal smashed? The member was so humorous in saying it's the best AR he's seen because it didn't look like there's any crystal on the watch. I can't find that thread. Same sick act.

i hope you get this issue resolved with your dealer. $1 or $800 it's a lot of money.

I cant offer any kind of advice (only not to pay $800 for a replica) I found an early post laughably elitist though, I have been registered here a short time, and read. Not really posted. If i got a rock in the post instead of a watch and then got told that my post count was too low and suspicious to be taken seriously id be pretty annoyed. I hope it gets sorted out, especially considering the money involved. If that rock could speak, I bet it had a story or two..

Yeah, I agree. Luckily, swemoose is well-known on other forums and was gracious to let that post drop. I firmly believe he did indeed receive a rock in the post.

However, you've got to be aware that some posts from allegedly new members are done with unusual motives, shall we say.

I've come down off the ceiling now, and hope i never receive a rock. Which is why i only really use PT, at least id know the rock had been checked over.

I have received a reply from the dealer and he has promised to replace to missing watch. I ordered it from Angus and I did a lot of research before ordering. He has a really good track record and I didn't want to drag his name in the mud since I truly believe that he didn't send me a rock. The only thing that has been positive about this whole thing is that Angus was quick to reply and work everything out. I would recommend him to anyone who asks.

I would like to thank the people that has posted encouraging comments. I do appreciate them. Thanks, Moose

DITTO! Never bought from him, but that Panerai pearwood box someone bought from him, and showed was wonderful.

Based on this, I wouldn't hesitate to deal with him in future (by the way, he's so speedy and cordial in emails. I asked about a few minor items, like buckles and screws).

Angus is a great guy having dealt with him I can say he is top notch when it comes to customer service. Glad things turned out good, the benefit of dealing with trusted dealers.
