I'd personally go for Swiss ETA PAM historics, while they're still available, especially the ones housing the least modded OPI and OPII mov'ts.
My personal 44mm PAM rep list of preference would be:
- 001 & 002 B-series (1999); OPI and II Swiss ETA, closed steel caseback, still awailable from most of the reputable dealers
- 111 & 112 F-series, if you can find one with a reliable Swiss E/F/G-series OPX and XI mov't. They mostly come with Asian/Swiss 'hybrid' mov't these days
- 111 & 112 G-series (transitional models with painted dial but brushed CG). The latest reps of these come with the nice E-series Swiss ETA mov't, like the one Eddie Lee had originally. These days, dealers like Joshua, Paul (I know ) have these, and it's only a matter of time when the others will start stocking them. These latest mov'ts come with the nicest dcorated bridges supposedly anti-rust coated with thin layer of white gold.
- 111 and 112 H-series are my least favoured, the dial still need a lot of re-work (dial txt shape, size, font, and color, cutouts etc), but the watch on it's own holds the admirable presence (as long as you don't compare it to the gen )

None of the watchmakers and watchsmiths I approached so far were willing to work on reps with Asian mov'ts...on the other hand most of them will work on Swiss ETAs.
cheers,
