Yes it’s very unfortunate concidering the high price of these watches. That said as far as the BP“Wrapped”are concerned both the texture and the gold color are still extremely accurate to gen. compared to the standard “plated” versions of the same watch. In person there is a very noticeable difference in the process they are using to make these so if your the kind of person that is looking for accurate gold color these are still the best watches to buy. You just need to be willing to pay a premium for that alone and completely forget about weather there is or isn’t any real gold content used at all.

I'm however also very shocked that no gold whatsoever is in a wrapped model, specially at the pricepoint they are selling it. Based on that, together with them saying it's 18k it's pretty unethical. But what the fuck.. it's an illegal marketplace. How often have I not been sold low-grade cocain when I was promised A grade... lol.

Yeah reps are illegal but td are supposed to be trusted so they should not be lying to us saying the wrapped gold day date and sub were 18 ktgold. They are asking for over a thousand pounds for those. This is wrong.

I do see your point though and I would like to hear what a td has to say about this. I suspect they would most likely just blame the factory saying that's what they were told though.

i was def a little booty bothered to find my $500 bracelet tested negative for gold content. however, it does look gold.

Yeah I have no problem with the cheap ones being called "18k plating" and not being actually plated.. I wouldn't expect it..

and I'm absolutely with you on that point - once they start charging 600-1200 and call it 18k wrapped, but doesnt contain any gold at all, that's a problem.

I don't think it can hold up to real gold.

Gold has certain physical properties that make it shine like crazy when polished and also it gives off a certain kind if warmth that is impossible to imitate except when using real gold.

Alchemists have tried this for centuries.. And failed. There is nothing that comes even close to real gold and for sure nothing that substitutes it.

Nope, not yet. Been waiting, like everyone else... At least I finally got my QC pictures last Sunday night. I approved it and am now waiting for the tracking number.

Will have it tested for gold content, though I doubt there is any.

I cant agree that he is good, using very cheap parts (basically DHGate level), build quality is often sub par and he mixes period incorrect parts.

You want a great datejust? Get the ARF datejust and noob datewheel plus gen dial and let someone like eazye, tickleshoes or ado123 assemble it.

I agree with you. The problem is, and im betting this is true, that it costs almost the same, if not just marginally more, to make the "wrapped bracelets" over the plated. Given there is no actual gold in there, its all just another mix of metals and colors. So to charge 2x and 3x the money is complete BS. Charge $100 bucks extra at most and be done with it.

It's a buyers market. If people weren't foolish enough to pay the high prices, then they would also be forced to make them cheaper. We can only blame ourselves

Lets translate the parts description:

Mymanmatt part = stock replica part (which you can also get on this website called rafflesdials.com as spare parts)

The build you posted is the same watch as this 80 dollar one from Silix, just with a better movement and genuine dial. That means that, except for the movement and dial, you will get the equivalent of a 80 dollar entrylevel replica in terms of accuracy and build quality. To put it in layman terms, this is a very bad replica of the daydate. (the exact details of why are outlined in the thread in my signature)
