Further to the above, when it arrives should I get it serviced? Any UK/London rep servicing recommendations?
and here it is! It’s a lovely watch. I have the gen and the bracelet doesn’t feel quite as smooth and wears differently, but for the money it’s a lovely watch!

Give that bracelet some lubrication, even just rub a little olive oil into it then dry it off, it'll may just feel 99% like gen after that. Mine did.

Okay nice, thanks for recommendation. I've just given it a once over with some Olive Oil (extra virgin of course
). I'll leave it overnight,Should I give it a rinse after?

If you want the most gen-like feel, it's best to NOT rinse off the olive oil. I find it gets a little messy though, so I just put a clear plastic bag over the watch when I wear it

On a serious note, you may want to consider using odorless mineral oil in the future...because as the name suggests, it's odorless.

I think you're on to something there!
I would also advice against any vegetable oil, they leave residue, might get sticky etc. I usually use choji oil for these things as I have extra lying around from my other hobby..

Its a blend of clove and mineral oil, from my experience it doesnt leave residue. You can go all mineral, like butcher block oil if you prefer, they are even food grade just incase you wanna kiss your rolex or something

Uhmmm. Live Side by side comparison for a no date shows that the VSF is tighter than gen...
