Nice video of the vsf 126610 and gen.
Thanks for the share. That looks like the highest-sitting crystal I've seen on a VSF 12X Sub.

I love the way YouTubers almost always point out the things on reps that are slightly off and never acknowledge that they're often the same on gens. The sound of the bezel click can change over time due to build up of dirt, etc. The Rehaut letters and dial markers almost never align perfectly on gens, and this one is no exception -- the left hand side is off. And, on this particular gen, the 6 o'clock marker is not perfectly aligned with the Coronet on the dial at the same position. The sharp(er) edges on the case and bracelet, however, is something I'm yet to see/feel perfected on a rep.

This is a different reference/model to the one in the video, but good luck telling which is which on someone's wrist from a normal distance.

Ive had this exact watch in both gen and rep before, and I spent a few minutes zooming in at what must be 100x, and I still wouldn’t want to bet money on which was which.

If I had to bet my life on it, I’d hazard a guess at - Gen on the right?
Solely based on the markers and hands dial colour being a little more consistent.

Gen is on the right, its the earlier version with double line rehaut and thin font dial.

Yep, a 2010. I love the double line rehaut.

MYrv2.jpg

Me too, that's why I have two of them, the date is also 2010 :)

What I dont like is the skinny rounded hour marker surrounds on the earlier versions, you can see from below pics as well the no date is couple of years newer and has fatter surrounds like all the newer ones have.

But I agree with your point in case of VSF or Clean no way anyone can tell anything on the wrist. That's just a nonsense issue created by rep owners themselves. Even as on your pic side by side its difficult even for us who knows the stuff to differentiate them.

typical on YouTube to talk about blue on date.
I went to AD in the shop to see gen and some of them has blue date. Usually, if the dial is blue - then it reflects it. Also if the light is blue it might also be blue.
But on your photo no visible blue on date. Do you see it in reality?

The top right corner of the Cyclops in my photo above is clearly showing a blue reflection. That moves depending on the angle of the watch. One of my 126610LNs has no colour at all, and the other has a slightly brown hue.

is it because they are from different factories or models or just random difference within the same factory?

Different suppliers making the Cyclops, I believe. And I think this colour difference applies only to the 12X references, not the 11X. Others may be able to correct/confirm that.

What are 12x? The models started with 12?
Do you know if gen also have blue date?

Congrats on getting into the rep game.
Based on the factories you mentioned, it sounds as though you will end up with a nice rep soon.

But to answer your question, that date wheel and cyclops are a complete shambles! Im not an expert at spotting reps, but I’d be able to notice that was a rep on your wrist.
This blue color on date is so visible.
Do you kbow if Clean Sub does not have it?

Don't want to be rude, but just buy a rep you like or leave it and go gen.
Buy CF explorer1 36mm and you will be happy or vsf/cf no date sub.

This forum is very polite.
We are just on different levels of "evolution" in watch area.

Guys here WG plate, change bezels and are really entusiastic.

Of course, its irritating to see an undesisive junior with ambitions to get a gen for 3% of it.

@Karabas, yes, 12X are the 41mm Subs and 11X are the previous 40mm ones.
Blue exists on gens, too. My photo above, posted Friday at 11:51 is a gen and it has blue, and it's nothing to do with the colour of the dial.
I've never owned a Clean Sub Date, but I've seen photos of them with the blue.
I do have Gens, VSFs and Noobs, and they all have it. I did own a Noob 126610LN which had absolutely no colour reflection at all. And I've had another 126610LN where the reflection was slightly brown, which also exists on genuine 12X watches with a cyclops.

It looks like blue on date cannot be a way to find out if its gen.
Youtuber guy who pointed "gen" has brown does not know what he is talking about.

But still, guys recommend to take sub no date,if I really want to be sure it looks close to gen.
That means that date is still not perfect and can be seen

Ack. not a VSF, but real or fake? It has the "floating m", which I've seen on multiple gens.

Date glass is not even blue. Looks like gen to me.
Where did you get this?
It is gen. I'm just pointing out that, like the cyclops reflection colour under certain lighting, the floating m exists on gen dials, too. It's often called out as a flaw/tell on reps.

This particular watch is here on the FB ROLEX Buy/Sell/Trade group. There are many others.
