personal preference. I think objectively the 41mm has better proportions and movement, but it is also much harder to find parts for if you want to franken it . Quality wise both VSFs are fairly head-to-head as far as I know.
Ah, so if I ever wanted to swap the face for a red-letter face, that doesn't (yet) exist? (not sure that it even exists for the 116610LN?). I'm guessing it's more because it's a new model?

Anyone know how to determine why bracelet links are loctited by VSF? I tried to change a bracelet once and it almost ruined me.

It would've been nice if this was mentioned.

It's most likely because they don't want to hear from people that their screws fell out and they now need replacements.
The trouble is it's just not thread locker on the threads. I've noticed it half way up the screw shaft, so all that locking power is spread over a larger surface area. My best results come from using a hair dryer on high to heat up the bracelet for several minutes. (heat guns can used but they will melt stuff so be careful, hence why I use the dryer, and gloves!) Thread lockers are liquid plastic so you're softening it for a short period.

When I first got it I tried everything. Hot water, flame, hair dryer, in the oven etc

I ended up having to use a key cutting tool to slice through an entire link. It was frustrating as hell.

Hi guys I've got a VSF 116610 with s39 in the rehault
I'm guessing not all VSF reps have the LEC in the sapphire,, as mine does not
And at the 6 marker just says Swiss made no crown in between words
Can anyone tell me what the s39 is
Thanks

The LEC should be there. It’s hard to see sometimes. Try shining a light (I.e., iPhone) to the side of the crystal and try to catch it with the light. The 11 series submariners (in comparison to the current 12 series) doesn’t have the crown in the middle.

S39 is the case series for production (batch).

omg!, that is amazing I've just spotted the LEC, and mine must be an 11 series
And thank you very much for the case info

There was I thinking I've got a VSF, and it can't be that good a rep, as that's missing

You have made my evening

Once again
Thanks

How much would it make sense to pay for a Gen dial of 116610LN? I'm looking for one, but I see very exorbitant prices on Chrono24.

Not sure where you're from, but try searching for them on local eBay sites, and use the local word for "dial".

If you search on "Kleinanzeigen" or eBay.de, try to search for: "116610LN Zifferblatt".
Most sellers on there will ship throughout the European Union.

If you're UK based, then you will also likely need to factor in the import duty and VAT on declared goods value (if buying overseas, incl EU).

The dial I think is the last thing on the list - firstly crystal, insert, hands, dw and than dial.

Ideally all together and its a completely different watch as they say nothing beats gen parts, any gen part is improvement in my eyes at least.

The full subc franken kits were going for around 1800 EUR in M2M when I last looked (dial, crystal, hands, dw, bezel / insert).

Below is my 2010 gen which has the early thin hour marker surrounds dial which I would avoid as fat surrounds look much better.

Hello!
I have recently bought my first VSF Submariner and I really must say that I get the submariner hype since I have one in my hands.
But I was wondering a thing - compared to my other watches the VSF 126610 is RAZOR sharp. The Edges/corners of the lugs, the bezel, the braclet and the clasp. All those parts have razor sharp edges.
Is this normal? Is this also on other replica (Clean, etc) and on gen Submariners?

I didn't think the lugs, bezel and clasp were bad. But the bracelet was a wee bit sharp. Only a few links on mine (did the finger nail test and only a few of the links scratched the top of my nail). I used a pair of old thick jeans as make-shift sandpaper to smoothen it. I didn't use sandpaper or those silicone rubber things people recommend since I was afraid I'd overdo it. The jeans method took some time but it worked. The links are perfect now.

Can someone please explain me why is the lift angle 59 instead of the usual 52 degrees at this VS3235 reading? Should I ask for another reading?
