I’ve tried to reread the past pages of this thread (approximately page 95 and on). Please correct me if I’m wrong, the 114060 (40mm) No Date is the most accurate VSF sub replica, at this time. And this is because of the superior brushing on the case and bracelet? Other than that and the mechanism, the 124060 (41mm) is just as good?
Less tells on the 114060 with no cyclops and date wheel

I just got my brand new VSF 126610LN. I knew I shouldn't have hyped up the damn watch in my head.

The good:

1. The watch looks stunning. The floating M and CERtifiED aren't visible to the naked eye. To those of you who can spot those while the watch is on the wrist - I'm jealous of your eyesight!
2. The glidelock works perfectly. And it's very smooth! No scratchy feeling while using it.
3. The bracelet feels nice. Something about the gen bracelet feels slightly better (hard to pinpoint what it is but yeah) but this one is pretty great too. The edges don't feel as sharp as I read it is supposed to feel. My ZF SMP300 had much sharper edges on the bracelet.
4. The ceramic bezel pops under direct sunlight.
5. I'm surprised that the crystal actually looks good. I've read that VSF crystals aren't as good as clean or gen crystals. To my inexperienced eyes, it looks pretty damn good.
6. I'm also surprised by the rehaut. It isn't as dull in person when compared to pictures. It looks dull when photographed but is decent when viewed directly. The gen had slightly more sheen but I would notice that ONLY when I compare the two side by side.

The bad:

1. I got a Q66 watch with clasp code 1LQ. The fold lock/safety lever in my watch is loose. It locks in place and tugging in the clasp with it in place doesn't dislodge the fold lock. But I can easily open it by holding the sides of the fold lock and flipping it down. No need to use the Rolex crown at all to unlock it. I played with the gen for a long time last week and the fold lock on that was TIGHT. I was actually afraid I'd pull the damn crown off while unlocking it. Is it normal for the VSF to be that loose? If so, is there any way I can make it tight?
2. The bezel action isn't as good as gen. I read a lot about how it was soft when compared to gen and now I know what they mean. The gen had a nice click and was tight. The VSF has clicks but not as good as gen. There's also some backplay. I know it's within normal limits when compared to other VSFs. But the bezel on my ZF SMP300 feels better. It clicks better and has no backplay. I've seen the Rolex clickspring online but I don't know if that alone will make the bezel click better and reduce the backplay. Someone told me I'll have to change the entire bezel and insert along with the clickspring and hyrtel (?) ring to make it feel as good as gen and that'll be more than a couple of thousand dollars. I don't want it to feel as good as gen but I'd love to get it to feel tighter than it is now and hopefully click better.

I guess I shouldn't have been that harsh to my watch in the opening statement. It's a very nice watch, especially for the price paid compared to a gen. If I could somehow fix the two negatives, it would be the perfect rep dive watch in my eyes. Right now, I think I still like my ZF SMP300 slightly more.

How do you feel about the clasp thickness? I was reading to some it does not feel right. I think this might have more to do with Rolex changing all the dimensions compared to the 116610 when creating the 126610 to be flatter, but wider. Would also be curious how you feel it wears compared to a 116610 or 16610 if you have worn.

The overall thickness of the clasp felt the same (gen vs VSF). It was a 126610LN that I experienced. Not a 116610, which I have zero experience with. Honestly I like how the 126610 wears on my wrist. I have skinny 6.75" wrists and the 126610 feels much smaller than my SMP300 overall.

Since the clasp of the 116610 is 1mm more than the 126610, I can see how some people might not like the extra mm, especially when flexing the wrist. I however probably wouldn't notice it at all.

I have seen some recent pictures of the VSF 126613LN vs Gen and the gold looks exactly the same now. Do you think this has changed? (GEN LEFT VSF RIGHT)
I'm not sure, difficult to tell from pics, the one I got was bad, they may be better now(?), I have no idea sorry.

As much as I like the SMP300, the clasp is outdated and very thick. Same with the planet ocean. Rolex has done a good job reducing the size of the clasp in the recent years. Not sure I feel about 21mm lug width, but looking forward to seeing how I like it.

I agree with you. The Omega Seamaster clasps are outdated. They're definitely chunky but solid. I sometimes wonder if they've stayed with the chunky clasps to keep with the overall theme of diver watches being chunky. I know not a popular opinion but I like big watches in general.

And the clasp on the 126610 isnt bad at all actually. It is very comfortable. I also fixed the loose flip lock with the help of a plier. I read about gen owners having this issue and people recommended using your fingers to squeeze it. The flip lock on the 126610 is thick and I used pliers to tighten it. There's a much better click now. Still not as nice as gen but it'll do.

Thans for summary! I am waiting for my 126610, so I can check if is fold lock loose as you wrote.

Do you know which improvements were made in Q66 serial version?

Some points I read a while back:

1. Pip has a better color apparently
2. Better bezel action with less play (can't imagine how bad the backplay in the previous version was since my Q66 has backplay)
3. Better rehaut (the rehaut on mind looks pretty good when viewed directly; in photos it still tends to wash out).
4. Better cyclops
5. Better clasp action (though my 1LQ doesn't feel anywhere close to a gen; the gen just feels tight overall)

I suppose I'm in a similar situation as well, just got my 126610LV with Q66 rehaut and 1LQ clasp. Can't really decide between selling it or building a franken out of it (think: fantasy red bezel insert, gen crystal, rubber-B strap, maybe DW and hands... ).
I can definitely echo the underwhelming flip lock, it is very easy to open and it squeaks 🙄

The rehaut I have no problem with, I actually took some glamour shots for my sell listing and it got complements:

Is there a noticeable gap in the 6 o clock SEL on the left side, of just the way the image was taken? Curious about the quality of the SEL for this model.

Oh yeah its quite bad, hence why I want to switch to a rubberB strap or maybe an ARF bracelet

Anyone have any experience with Q56 case code? I just got some VSF QC pics, and I’ve not come across Q56 before…

The green bezel definitely looks fantastic.

And I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. Handling my rep made me appreciate the gen even more. While it's a good watch, I doubt it'll see much wrist time. I might sell mine too, even though it looks absolutely fantastic.

Also looks like VSF has become sloppy with the SELs. I've seen people say the old VSFs looked sloppy (and I've seen gens with SEL gaps too). But my watch has slight gaps as well. It doesn't bother me but yeah.

Looks good, would green light it.
I think it is a Q66 code, that is the current batch of this watch.

I'm looking at a VSF 126610LN, as the VSF 116610LN I wanted was unavailable. Is this a good idea? At least from this article, the gen 126610LN sounds better.
personal preference. I think objectively the 41mm has better proportions and movement, but it is also much harder to find parts for if you want to franken it . Quality wise both VSFs are fairly head-to-head as far as I know.
