The usual way is to identify the clasp code.
If your TD can agree to open up the caseback for you, the VS movement is the definite proof

If a TD sold you a VSF and it turned out it wasn't a VSF, he risks having his Trusted status removed, he would just be Dealer, no longer selling his watches on RWi.

That's a personal choice and only makes sense if YOU feel that the money YOU spend on gen parts will enhance YOUR OWN enjoyment of YOUR rep, because the caveat is: No matter what you change or how much money you spend on gen parts, it'll always be a rep.

Although they're both 126610LN reps, they're from 2 different factories using 2 different movements.
ZF factory w/ Shanghai 3235 (VR3235) movement
VS factory w/ Dandong 3235 (VS3235) movement
Matching on known VSF specific clasp codes is probably the simplest way. There are movement tells, but it's not regular practice to show the movement for QC.
