DANG IT!!! I just couldn't help myself and dropped a dime with Puretime! I've been on the fence for a while about a PAM and this comparo' put me over the edge.

My wife is going to KILL me! LOL!

Curse RWI for turning me on to these fabulous reps! Hahahahaha!!

Please elaborate!

I really don't want to thread crap since this is a fantastic review with lots of pics. He put lots of time into this, and we should be grateful. Both reps are superb.

But since you asked, the stainless steel on the H-factory case seems a bit "brighter", and closer to the gen. This is impossible to photograph, I've tried, and you can only tell when they are side by side. Both rep watches are exceptional, but the H- just feels closer to me. When all three are side by side, I have confused the H-factory with the gen. Never with the Noob.

I also think the lume is closer on the H-factory, because it seems like the brightness fades on the watches. My H-factory was brighter out of the box, but that could be perceptions. My gen 111 is a J series, if that matters.

So, IMHO neither one is perfect. I'd swap the Noob movement into the H-factory and call it a day, but truthfully a few years back we'd have to spend hundreds on mods to get even remotely close to these two fantastic pieces.

Thanks for your thoughts, but it sure doesn't make it any easier to decide which one to pick up. Why would you pick the h-factory movement? Are both reps the m series?

Oh man, I feel like shit after reading this thread. The Noob PAM111 came out 3 days right after I bought the H factory and my dealer wouldn't let me exchange it..

I just checked MR's website and the Noob is a bit less than the H-Factory. Good deal, isn't it?

No, the H-Factory version on MR site is not the 111M and it is different than one being reviewed here.

This is a truly awesome review, thank you for taking the time to do it

The Noob is amazingly close to gen!

Would it be fair to say that the Noob makers had a gen to hand and the H makers didn't? Or just that the H makers didn't think there was that much point doing the bits you can't really see?

Either way, both look great on the wrist :)

I wonder how long it will be before someone posts this thread or the pics on a gen forum and all manner of scared gen owners reply lol

Why do you feel bad? Both are stunning reps that people have spent $1k+ in the past modding older reps to get anywhere near either of them! Buy it, wear it, enjoy it, and don't stress about some PAM WIS coming over on the street and calling you out from 10 feet away because your dial font colour is a bit light or the crown tube he can't see is wrong!!

QA pics received, swan neck is in place correctly, rest is perfect. 111M noob inbound!

Stoked! :) O'yea, just dropped a dime on a Gunny Straps Chocolate Fudge, and maybe a near future TooTall Blond! I love the versatility of these timepieces and how the entire look can be changed by a simple strap! Gonna' be siiiick!

Just found out this review.
Excellent work.

Angus, you're more than a TD, you're a great member and a big + to this forum.

Wow! This is a bloody outstanding review Angus!

Thank you very much for taking the time in what (IMHO) is probably the best and most indepth review that I have read to date.

You are truly a great asset to this wonderful forum. :D

So is the new noob dial the same as the older 111j noob dial? it looks like it to me but I'm no expert...

Little late on the BW here (been away for about 1 year). But this review from a TD is truly remarkable and moved me to pull the trigger! Mods like this would have cost an easy $800-$900 or more last time I visited this forum. I like it, but...it was also "fun" trying to build the close to "perfect rep" as possible (scratching my head)! lol Thanks Angus!

As others have already mentioned, thanks Angus for doing this detailed review. It certainly helped a Pam newbie like myself.

I think the 111 will be my next rep, unless there is another better Pam soon on the way... :p
