I wore Pam 111, 10 years ago at my wedding. 390 would be great for you, I wear mine a lot and it has a great look. But personally I'd wear Patek Nautilus. You just cannot beat that one.

PAM and anything that requires a suit is dress shirt = no go. Imagine looking at yourself in photos thirty years later and thinking "what kind of fool wears THAT watch with THIS attire". Get yourself a proper - may be splurge for a gen even - dress watch and keep PAM for jeans and tshirt moments.

6154 or 3646 would be my call.

Both good choices also

No love for the gold 513? I think its dressy as hell

Im just not really a fan of gold for myself, although I do agree gold is very dressy so I can see your logic

Big Egiziano ... for the big day. Probably scare the bride, but who cares... LOL.

Holy crap, that thing's a monster!

If You don't have problems with 47mm, think about the 372.....black dial, no seconds, one of my favorites...

see that's why I am leaning towards the 390 for myself, simplicity

I am in exactly the same boat and had this discussions with the fiancé this evening....what watch to wear! I'm leaning towards a radiomir just because it seems to be a more "fitting" and would work well under a cuff

See...it's an important decision right? I mean afterall, the women get their engagement rings AND a wedding ring, plus get to splurge on the dress - which watch to wear is at least something we can have a say in!

the 111 is another simple design. honestly, i can appreciate a patek, but it's not really my cup of tea

pam? ever considered a vintage build?

enlighten me :)

I hear ya, but honestly once the ceremony is over Ill probably change into something a little more casual for the rest of the evening, so itll be jacket off, cuffs up and on with the party. No way Im staying in a 3pc in 90* sunshine! I have a gen TAG Monaco (the black dial chrono) which is dressier than the PAM - that's already slated for another day.

So, just to take this thread one step further - post up your wedding pics (if you have any) showing off your watch selection

No watch on your wedding. For this special occasion you don't need the time.

Otherwise 512

I'm honestly leaning towards one of my gens for the day (although have sold my gen PAM's...!) so this might be an excuse to get another gen :D

I'd wear a gen. Any swiss automatic watch brand. Simply because a wedding is such an important occasion.

In my country the best man or bride's family use to buy a present to the groom.........:bless:
I would love a PAM111 with black leather strap....... but personally I believe that a Radiomir is more suitable and dressy for wedding time!!!!!

So contrary to my initial thoughts, I did listen to all your great feedback and I have decided to go with a Radiomir PAM - I think I will go with the 388. I own a 532 and the black I just don't think it smart enough for the occasion.

I haven't decided on what color suit I will be wearing on the day, so for now assume that's not the factor - I would love to see some pics of either a 380/388 (or any other polished case Radiomir) on an assortment of straps. I am really liking the nubuck croc - maybe an oem JV (or rep given they are spendy) - but let me see what suggestions you all have! Thanks again for your input, much appreciated.

Great choice on going with the 388. I'd recommend a dark brown croc or a glossy black croc.

The important thing is to match your strap to the overall look you are going for.

So outdoors wedding - tan suit? Brown linen? assuming brown belt and and brown shoes? I would make sure to match my strap accordingly. Are you a fan of exotic skins? or are you more traditional?

If you are traditional - i would recommend maybe some dark or light brown alligator hyde from Orloff, something like this:

Or if you like more exotic skins, perhaps some light brown ostrich (There is actually one for sale right now from a great member - your exact watch, 388 on ostrich, for a great price):

I have a 388 on the way and I'm also getting married soon. Fiancé actually bought the watch for me and before his thread came along I had intended to use the watch on my wedding day. It's really a great option

Yep, everyone has made some great suggestions here. I got the 390 I spoke about in the first post, but it is now in daily rotation (which isn't a bad thing!)
For the wedding, I'm going to go with the 388. Strap wise, ill get either OEM JV or an Orloff.

Congrats on your wedding too btw :)

Wait, you're a Brit living in Chicago, having a California wedding?

mate...I won't be wearing a dress :)

Yes sir, I was going to get a gen asso and gen buckle to complete the special set

hmm good call Norrie - not sure. Funny thing is, I have pretty much figured out the PAM, but have no clue what I will wear yet.
It's going to be outdoors in Napa, CA so pretty sure I won't be wearing a black tux!

Keep posting up suggestions, plus would love to know what you guys chose as your timepiece for the day (for those of you who are married that is!)

OP congrats to you as well. OEM JV is an amazing choice but a very expensive strap ($400)

Another alternative is peter watchacc
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Watchacc-Watch-Accessories-Page/202634479808387

He makes a Nubuck JV style gold crocodile strap that is very good from what I'm reading on different sites. Some members here know him. I am considering one from him as well because I love the look of the JV

His price is $180 I believe, PayPal and shipped

Hope that helps!
