Hey there guys!

Long time lurker here on the forums. Looking to finally make my first rep watch purchase, and I want it to be my grail watch, the 116619LB Smurf.

I’ve done SO much digging both on this forum and through multiple TD websites like Jtime / puretime / intime and I cant find any new and updated Smurf reps. From what I can tell, the most updated smurf rep was the Noob V8, but that model had a sunburst dial that was a dead giveaway.

JTime does have a noob v7’posted on their website (https://jtime.cc/us/submariner-1166...t-edition-blue-dial-on-ss-bracelet-a2836.html) but you can tell just from the pictures that the bezel needs to be platinum filled at minimum, and the dial font is greyish looking and not white like on the Gen. No Bueno.

Also there IS a model from JF on intime (https://www.intime05.co/rollie/5698-...let-a2824.html) that looks like it would be suitable in terms of the matte blue dial, but my searching tells me this came out in mid 2018 to compete with the noob v7-v8 of the time which would lead me to believe it’s technology would be older and less refined. And as far as I know JF is the “lesser” version of ARF, and im not really looking for a “lesser” rep as little details drive me crazy.

So... is there a new and updated ZZF V2 Smurf, ARF Smurf, or Noob V10 Smurf that someone here can recommend? I don’t mind that the case and bracelet are stamped “Steelnox”, and I don’t mind the weight difference between the gen w.g and the rep ss. But the dial details, sel gaps, bezel details, date wheel font, etc etc all have to be as close to gen as possible.

*note*
I did find a website that claimed to have a noob v10 smurf but the website isn’t from one of our trusted dealers. Link is https://www.anyreplicawatches.co.com...ategory_id=491
Has anyone used this website? I’d prefer to stick to the RWI trusted dealers list.

Not sure about this dealer the pics are too fuzzy to see the details. There are no white gold stamps on the back of the case like the noob v5 smurf which was the one of the better versions. Here’s mine built from ARF case as a stainless smurf using gen parts

This watch looks great! What gen parts did you add on yourself? Does ARF make a smurf that I can order?

Dferreira unfortunately ARF don’t make them. I used the ARF case, ARF hands. refinished Rolex dial and gen bezel, gen datewheel and crystal. Movement is a serviced mostly gen 3135

I figured this would be your answer. Pretty watch none the less. Hoping to find something ready to go OOTB.

If someone can confirm that’s a noob v10 smurf on that anyreplica site I’d go for that for sure it’d be the best option, maybe just contact them and ask for better photos you may get lucky. If you do share them here I’d be interested also :) good luck

You're taking a big risk if you order from a non TD. If a Noob v10 Smurf is available from a non TD site, then any of the TDs will be able to get it for you. For instance, if you emailed the link to M at Marvellous Replica or to Mary, they'd be able to tell you whether it can be sourced.

I wasn’t considering ordering from a non-TD. I’m not a gambling man and I’m sure as hell not gonna send 500-1000 dollars to a dealer who hasn’t been thoroughly vetted by this community.

Can anyone shed some light on my original
question? Where can we find a high quality 116619LB today?

Got an email back from JTime saying the only smurf watch available is the noob V8. Both the noob v7 and the JF factory watch are both out of production. No v9 or v10 were made for the 116619LB. ARF and ZZF don’t make a 116619LB either.

Gonna email a few other TD’s, but so far it seems like my only option, other than swap a gen dial and bezel onto a black sub, is to get a noob v8 and source a blue dial that will match the bezel?

Any seasoned members have a better idea?

I have been trying to build one - or considering it. I saw a gen dial on trf a few weeks ago and considered buying it.

As far as the reps that are out there, I don’t know why they sunburst the dial. That always irritated me.

The smurf was always my grail watch but this year I think a white gold daydate with a meteorite dial has overtaken it.

What watch are you using as a base? Black sub or Noob v8?

I’m not making it currently. Just someth8ng I often c9nsidered (especially when I saw that dial). But if I did, when I was ready, I’d have to see whomever had the best case at the time because it may change between now and then. And don’t even get me started on the insert. Remembering what I went through for the LV was not fun. Well, actually it was kinda fun. But maddening too.

I’ve gotten some emails back from other TD’s, no luck at all. I’ve come to terms with the fact that if I want a smurf I’m gonna have to just build my own.

So in that case....

The Noob V8 comes with an A2836 movement. If I were to buy a Genuine or Aftermarket matte blue bezel that is designed to fit a 3135 calibre genuine movement, would I be able to mount it to a A2836? Is there someone on this forum that could steer me in the right direction?

Im definitely in over my head when it comes to modding watches. Any insight would be great :)

You would have to cut the dial feet and then reattach new ones in the correct positions I believe. It is not a small or an easy job but a good modder should be able to handle it. If you're looking to do this, your main priority should (in my opinion) be, finding the parts that are going to be most difficult to find. Like the dial. Once you do that, work backwards so that you get the watch that works best with the parts you have.

Many of the other parts are interchangeable so they're of less importance. There are companies out there that will make aftermarket dials. Try to scope them out and see what you can find.
Ill take a quick look when I get a moment.
