I assume that I may need to drill the hole on top of tapping threads, but most of the time with my other tube swaps , they just need tapping. Has anyone tried one?
looks great!Finally got round to doing the hands, maybe a bit over the top with the hour hand but they do tend to get the worst of it over time so pretty happy with it. Will need a true gilt for my next 6538 after iv done a few other projects.
Here's a very rough measurement with my manual calipers...the tube is very close to 4mm in diameter, 5mm in total length, with approximately 3mm being in the case and then countersunk....so it all depends on the area available around your current tube.
