Hey just starting my silix build, still getting parts together! Probably will go with 2836 movement but don't want to end up with a lemon, hope you don't mind me asking but any recommendations on best dealer to source these? Price? Thanks again. ColinSincerely you should choose 2836. DG hands are bad. Clarks Tudor hands or JKHorologicals hands for ETA are very nice. That's why I use ETA or A28XX on my builds.

Hey build looking good, the strap looks ace. Just wondered where you sourced the eta? Getting parts together for my silix build and would like a half decent movement that's hopefully reliable and not costing a fortune! Cheers. Colin
Looking pretty good mateDid some more work on this one.
Before bezel recut:
After:
It's not the best but way better than before. Next up are another bezel insert and crystal.
Really glad I didn't sell it and started the reworking process. It's turned out quite nice...
The eta is from a Hamilton watch, you can pick the movement up on eBay for around £100 . My other silix builds are dg2813 which are only about £30 or miyota 8215 which is around £40 . The miyota is pretty sturdy, I like the eta but it's easy to mess up the keyless works when removing the stem .Hey build looking good, the strap looks ace. Just wondered where you sourced the eta? The cheap movements seem a bit more forgiving in that respect.
I have a rep sub that I bought on holiday in Greece in 1998 with a miyota movement which still runs +/-6 secs per day with no servicing
