Looks great! What are the specs?
Thanks ! The specs are:
- Milk case
- Phong dial
- Cousins 28xx hands
- Rep 704 crown + tube
- 2824 movement
- HR movement ring
- Sternkreuz 305.451 plexi
- aftermarket service insert

I still need to find a better set of hands maybe and a better quality plexi for it. Still a work in progress..

Where your daughter is
Darn it. I got a 16610LN maybe 2 months ago and it's ok. Not my favorite and I'm not a huge Rolex fan, well I'm more immediate anti-hype reaction. But what that 16610 did is make me realize I like the modern better which I have and start to visually connect the older models more which I never like before. I can see the appeal now and have started looking heavily at these. Which is unfortunate for my wallet. So much to learn. That's the fun part. I dislike all you enablers 😬

Actually the stock 5513 is a rather boring watch. Like modern rolexes, it has a certain perfection of design that has created the standard in dive watches. So I get your comment on the 16610.

However the 5513 (and 1016) also opens the infinite options of customization through ageing techniques. For me, that's the appeal.

You buy a stock VSF 126610 and you are done. Starting from a JKF or a Milk case, you have hours, sometimes days, of work in front of you

Amazing watch, congrats! If I wanted to build something similar, roughly which amount of money should I set aside?

Wow, I didn't know that there were rep 5513 dials with gold surrounds. Looks great1
The quality and finish on these isn’t great, but all I could find currently without going gen.

I went quite budget friendly with this as a test build with the milk case. There are still some parts (hands, plexi, insert) that I would replace which can sharply increase the cost but I’d probably be budgeting around $1k not including the bracelet and various shipping costs..

I probably wouldn’t use the milk case again, mainly due to the plexiglass fitment and having to secure the retaining ring with glue..

But if you’re okay with this, the shape of the milk case without any modifications done to it is actually great I think. Can’t really go wrong for $250.

Currently exploring some viet case options, pros and cons to each…

Lovely watch @C Master, can I ask what hands you used for this build?
I'm currently looking for a better set for my T<25 5513 to replace the generic hands from cousins and also possibly some hands to go with a gen service dial..

I hear the TC 28xx hands were great but probably impossible to find these days..
So far I've purchased a set from rafflesdials which are okay, but I think I read somewhere that the rafflestime hands are better?
Also been looking at some other suppliers, but just unsure on quality really.

@tripdog did this build he did not specify where the hands came from. I would be only guessing by saying Rafflestime. I can tell you that I have used Raffletimes hands on a few builds and they are as good if not better than most stuff out there. If I see TC V3 hands before you I will be pouncing on them lol.

It has an ETA 2789 in there.
