Finally got my first 5513 in. Marvelous Replica is great. Took forever to bleach and UV the bezel - a full day and only this much. Was trying for a little more fade to gray. Tried to put in some phat-a$$ springbars, but will need to drill the holes out a bit for them to fit. Switched the b-let to an old Marine for comfort - love it. Much more comfortable and secure for my dangerous job at the laptop. (I know it’s on backward, it meets my needs better this way). I really like the dome - both look and feel. Anyway, glad to finally be able to pitch in on this thread. Cheers.

Nice little 3-6-9. I wear the marine strap like that too. Much easier.

How is this on backwards? what would be the correct orientation?

I think the clasp is supposed to be on the 12/top side of the watch(?). I’ve seen it many different ways. Sometimes I flip it inside out so the clasp can’t come loose. Technically these aren’t even the exact setup as the real parachute strap setup. They didn’t use any sewing.

That service dial is awesome - did you add that or did it come as is? Is that a jkf/cartel case?
(I think I remember you posting some details about the watch months ago, but can’t find it... or I’m just wrong. )

All sourcing of parts, assembly and reshaping done by tripdog for his personal use, I stole it off him. Yes it is indeed a Cartel case.

C Master : thanks for the reply! I’ve got a jkf case and plan on trying to make that dial. (I didn’t know about it with the applied indices until I saw your watch a while back and read up about it. I think you posted some info on it too maybe.). The cartel cases are killing me though with only accepting the smaller dials. All my dial blanks are 28.5mm. And I can’t find any cartel-sized dial blanks. So I guess I’ll have to shave some 28.5mm dials down to fit the cartel case. At least there’s no date window. I have some indices put aside for the project but now sure if they are the exact size, and I haven’t found any info yet on the service dial indices size. I’m hoping they are the typical 5-digit sub size. Just another project I don’t have time to finish yet. If I can ever get it done, I’ll post some pics here. Anyway, thanks for sharing. That watch is of yours is bonkers. Cheers

Yep the gen dial is a lot smaller and fits. It is weird that most rep dials come in 29mm and 28.5mm in your case. I am building a 14060 and the only dial I could get readily was a 29mm dial. The TC case was gen spec 16610 so 27.3mm diameter. My watchmaker has to shave the dial.

Wait. You're building a 14060 in a 16610 case? Do you have the specs and build pictures for that?

As I said it is not going to be accurate but it is starting to look damn good.

TC V6 Case
TC crown
ST Bezel assy
TC insert
TC Bracelet
Raffles Hands Relumed
Raffles Dial shaved to 27.3mm diameter.
ETA 2824 with H4 pinion
Noob 116610 xtal with cyclops removed.

I looked at Ruby's cases. There are a bunch of different ones listed, bit they all look the same. What am I missing? Is one more desirable than the others?
