In case anyone is interested, I got a 34mm Rolex case from Raffles today and it seems a little different from previous ones I’ve had. The crown is more squat, and to my eye, more similar to gen, it actually looks a lot better.

The case back is also a touch deeper that might help those who’ve had trouble with rotor rub, and the lugs look maybe a bit different but I’m struggling to put my finger on it.

Pics below (it’s a ranger but with a Raffles Rolex crown). And case backs in the air, the deeper back is the new case.

May I ask what movement it has, does it hack, and if you know if there are used/rep movements available at a reasonable cost?

34mm Air King completed. I love how the dial changes with the ambient lighting, lovely thing…. Nightmare build though, you know when you just muck up and make a silly mistake? I got the hour and minute hand misaligned, then when removing the hands I accidentally slid the Burgeon dial cover under a couple of indices and popped off the applied markers! They were a pain to sit on the dial again, oh man that wasn’t fun haha.

That movement is beautiful! It’s the same cal. as in the Oyster Precision 6426 I believe.

It has the cal 390 I believe and it does not hack.
I dont know of any ... when I first got this watch 5 years ago I read that alot of people buy them to salvage the movements for their vintage tudor subs like the 7928

Check ebay...lose movements are most often missing parts or need a service.
best to buy a complete running watch for the movements.

new drop from raffles.
speed king dials. in silver and black.
28mm will need to machine down to fit into a 34mm case I think 32 is out of the question tho.

Does anyone have exact measurement of the movement opening for a 34mm Raffles case? Has 28mm movement spacers on the website but wondering if anyone has experience of it being a loose or tight fit into the case? Cheers

Some Tudor 390 info:

I have owned a couple Toots with the 390 and the auto-wind assembly is not very reliable, rotor axle trouble iirc. Might have been reverser trouble, can't remember.

New drop from raffles. Speedking dials, in silver and black.

They look good, would make a cool project using a 31 or 32mm 'flat back' case (if one can be found) with a manual wind movement of some sort.
Doubt a 28mm dial will fit in a Speedking size case though.
Don't know why I would put one together anyway...still have the 6430 Speedking I bought new from an AD waaay back and wore it two or three times. Paid $115 USD out the door for it with a signed Rlx buckle and strap.
Since the Speedking seemed to be too small, what was my next brilliant move?
Bought a new 6694! Didn't wear it either.
What did I end up wearing?
Accutron 214, already had it when I bought the Rolex watches. Still have it.
What do I wear now?
Today, a stainless quartz Movado Museum.
What? Why?
Don't have to wind it, shake it, or wear it to make it run.
I'll wear something else tomorrow.
