Wasn’t sure if you can post non rep, my gen 16613 had a hard life...but I still love it even though has a rep glass(don’t hate me) took the quick cheap option after my daughter dropped it on tile floor and shattered, never got round to putting gen glass.

Beautiful watch, just need the glass re-aligned. You should go for a new xtal though, you will not look back

Since this is the 16613 thread I’ll throw this on here....sorta fits.

I just scored a bunch of bezels from my local longtime watchmaker...old gent with no time for eBay evidently. Among other things he had this and I’m stumped- back looks pretty gen, singer stamp looks correct, feet are in right place.

Front is another story- looks good only from arm’s length, nice starburst, pretty purple though, I had nothing to take pics of it with other than my usual iPad but got these quick shots in the shop and noticed the coronet/printing looks like no 16613 I have ever seen rep or gen- and also paint is spotty/deteriorated- does not go with the back at all.

No rep I have seen will have this back so what is this?

Just a terrible refinish job on a gen plate or what? He says he took it off a 80’s 16613, admitted the print was wonky, and offered it to me for cheap...but as much as I love looking at bluesys I likely won’t build one, and for sure not with this dial. Just curious about this.

Nice gen!
I also still have a TC rep crystal and it's ok quality. I'm thinking about going gen crystal, when I'm changing the bezel retainer ring soon.

The 5 digit (16613 & 16803) all have Sapphire crystals. The older models had plexi or acrylic glass.

There are good aftermarket crystals out there such as clarks.

There are various Rolex crystals used on these models depending on the year it was made, so if you wanted to keep it period correct you would use the correct crystal. I have the new Rolex crystal on mine with LEC (The anti counterfeit coronet engraving that you can hardly see) and AR (Anti reflective) coating ref B25-295-C12-C1. Mine should have no AR or LEC but i love the black hole effect of the new crystals.

I’ll probably put a Clark crystal I’ve got a rep Batman coming from BK with Clark crystal I’ll check it out and see if I like it, prob put in my gen sub.
